Adam Schiff Gets DEVASTATING News

The U.S. Senate race in California is heating up, putting Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) under pressure to set himself apart from his rivals. This comes as the Republican contender has made significant strides in fundraising over the last quarter.

Federal finance reports reveal that Republican Steve Garvey surpassed the 11-term congressman in fundraising during the second quarter, with a notable difference. Garvey raised $1.2 million more than Schiff, bringing his total earnings to $5.44 million.

Schiff, a dedicated supporter of Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) with a progressive base near her San Francisco district, raised $4.2 million. Garvey’s campaign received contributions from 67,000 individuals, with an average donation of $81.

"Californians are tired of the status quo, they are tired of the division, they are tired of Washington D.C. not working together, they (are) tired of Adam Schiff representing his party bosses rather than them, and now they are speaking up with their checkbooks," Garvey stated to Cal Matters.

At 64, Schiff is one of the few ardent Israel supporters in the Democratic Party. He received $67,000 from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), which recently campaigned against Congressman Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) from the “Squad” in his June primary.

This shift is striking since Rep. Schiff had been leading in fundraising. From February 15 to March 31, Schiff spent $12.5 million, five times more than Garvey, a former L.A. Dodgers first baseman, raised in the first quarter. Schiff has amassed $39 million, while Garvey has raised $12 million.

Despite the Democrats' confidence in securing a California Senate seat, Schiff clearly sees it differently. He did not comment on his lackluster fundraising but sent a fundraising email on Tuesday urging supporters to donate to prevent Garvey from outpacing them again. He mentioned Garvey’s fundraising edge and the Republican Party’s significant spending as the scenario they feared.

At 75, Garvey faces challenges in a state where President Joe Biden won by a wide 30-point margin in the last election. He has called for the embattled current officeholder to withdraw but did not attend the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee this week.

Instead, he focused on summer campaigning, avoiding mingling with top GOP figures. In a recent interview, he referred to Biden as an octogenarian with cognitive issues and confirmed he voted for former President Donald Trump in the state’s presidential primary in March, and plans to do so again in November.
