Former President Donald Trump has experienced firsthand how intense political rhetoric from the left can carry serious consequences.
Now, his team seems prepared to respond in kind.
Back in March 2020, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat from New York, issued a fiery warning to Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch while they were deliberating on abortion-related cases.
“I want to tell you, Gorsuch! I want to tell you, Kavanaugh!” Schumer exclaimed to a crowd gathered on the steps of the Supreme Court, as reported by PJ Media.
“You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions,” Schumer declared.
“You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price.”
When I hear the name Chuck Schumer, “bipartisanship” does not come to mind:

Though those remarks were made nearly five years ago, the Trump administration appears to be treating them as if they happened just yesterday.
One day after Trump was reinstated as president, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin issued a letter inquiring about Schumer’s comments.
“I respectfully request that you clarify your comments from March 4, 2020,” Martin wrote, referencing the aggressive statements made during the rally, according to a document obtained by the National Legal and Policy Center.
“We take threats against public officials very seriously. I look forward to your cooperation with my letter of inquiry after request,” Martin added.
The move by Trump’s prosecutors to revisit remarks from half a decade ago signals that they are taking this issue seriously.
Additionally, Martin is addressing more recent threats aimed at officials aligned with Trump’s administration.
After leftist activists publicly targeted staff members within Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency with threats of violence, Martin sent another letter to Musk pledging to protect them.
“At this time, I ask that you utilize me and my staff to assist in protecting the DOGE work and the DOGE workers,” he wrote to Musk.
“Any threats, confrontations, or other actions in any way that impact their work may break numerous laws,” Martin continued. “Let me assure you of this: we will pursue any and all legal action against anyone who impedes your work or threatens your people.”
He also highlighted the violent actions previously overlooked by the Biden administration.
“We will not act like the previous administration who looked the other way as the Antifa and BLM rioters as well as thugs with guns trashed our capital city,” Martin stated.
Beyond Martin’s actions, Trump himself is evidently aware of how unchecked political rhetoric can escalate into actual violence—especially when law enforcement fails to intervene.
For years, the media has relentlessly labeled Trump with every insult imaginable, potentially fueling two assassination attempts during his campaign.
Trump is making it clear that he is no longer willing to tolerate the chaos the left has brought upon the nation.
And to be honest, neither is the rest of the country.
