Betrayed Again: SCOTUS Upholds Biden-Era Anti-2A Ruling, And Roberts and Coney Barrett Weren't Only Defectors

The Supreme Court has delivered a significant blow to Second Amendment advocates by upholding Biden administration regulations that impose restrictions on homemade firearms.

On Wednesday, all justices except Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito voted in favor of maintaining regulations on “ghost guns.” These firearms, often assembled using kits or created through 3D printing, are now subject to stricter controls, as reported by CNN.

Proponents of gun rights had contested the rules, which mandate that makers of these kits include serial numbers and conduct background checks on purchasers.

Justice Neil Gorsuch, writing for the majority, addressed the technological implications of “ghost guns.”

“Perhaps a half hour of work is required before anyone can fire a shot,” Gorsuch noted.

“But even as sold, the kit comes with all necessary components, and its intended function as instrument of combat is obvious. Really, the kit’s name says it all: ‘Buy Build Shoot.’”

Justice Thomas, however, strongly opposed the ruling, arguing that the Supreme Court’s decision enables government overreach.

“Congress could have authorized ATF to regulate any part of a firearm or any object readily convertible into one. But, it did not. I would adhere to the words Congress enacted,” Thomas stated in his dissent.

The Firearms Policy Coalition also expressed frustration with the ruling.

“This is only one battle in a multi-generational war over the scope of government and pre-existing right to keep and bear arms,” the group declared in a statement on Wednesday.

“The Supreme Court cynically built up a falsework to shore up the ATF’s improper rule in spite of the text and history of the statutes.”

The decision undoubtedly creates challenges for gun owners.

Gorsuch is correct in his assessment—3D printing technology has made firearm production highly accessible. While some may misuse it, limiting the rights of law-abiding citizens due to the actions of a few bad actors is not a justifiable solution.

The left continues to manipulate narratives, pretending to prioritize crime prevention while primarily seeking to erode Americans’ gun rights.

Take the term “ghost gun.” It is designed to instill fear, making the public believe that untraceable or 3D-printed firearms pose an existential threat, conjuring images of dangerous, shadowy weapons.

The window under President Donald Trump is closing quickly.

When the left regains control, they will be relentless in their pursuit of restrictive gun policies.

To preserve Second Amendment rights, it is essential to establish strong legal precedents and legislation—not merely rely on executive orders.

Although the Supreme Court has made progress in defending gun rights, its latest ruling shows that it remains unwilling to take the necessary steps to secure them for the future.
