Biden Insiders Finally Come Clean About What's Happening Behind Closed Doors

The U.S. has transitioned from the era of “All the President’s Men” to a period marked by concerns over the president’s cognitive lapses.

Carl Bernstein, the former Washington Post reporter famed for his coverage of the Watergate scandal that toppled the Nixon administration, delivered a critical assessment of President Joe Biden’s recent performance. Speaking to CNN’s Anderson Cooper on “Anderson Cooper 360,” Bernstein said that attempts to downplay Biden’s poor showing at Thursday night’s debate are merely attempts to obscure long-standing issues.

Bernstein reported that White House insiders have indicated Biden’s struggles during the debate were not an isolated incident.

“They are adamant that what we saw the other night, the Joe Biden we saw is not a one-off, that there have been 15, 20 occasions in the last year and a half when the president has appeared somewhat as he did in that horror show that we witnessed,” Bernstein said.

He emphasized that the information comes from credible sources close to the president, as well as some reporters who have witnessed similar incidents.

“But here we see tonight, as these people say President Biden is at his absolute best, and yet these people who have supported him, loved him, campaigned for him, see him often say that in the last six months particularly there has been a marked incidence of cognitive decline and physical infirmity,” Bernstein added.

This discussion followed Biden’s comments on the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of former President Donald Trump’s claim of immunity from criminal liability for actions taken in his official capacity. Biden delivered a five-minute speech from a teleprompter and took no questions from reporters, as reported by The Daily Caller.

Bernstein told Cooper, “I think that what these folks are saying and have been saying for a while is, ‘Yes, he’s great when we see him as we have tonight, but he also has these inexplicable moments that we are very concerned about.'”

For many Americans who have followed Biden’s presidency, the only surprising aspect is that White House sources are now acknowledging these concerns. Biden’s history of mental lapses is extensive, from forgetting the Declaration of Independence to calling out for a deceased congresswoman.

In early June, The Wall Street Journal published a report quoting Democrats and Republicans on Biden’s behind-the-scenes struggles. Democrats have tried to dismiss video evidence of Biden’s failings as doctored or manipulated by Republicans. However, Thursday’s debate performance, which was set up by Biden’s team at CNN’s Atlanta headquarters, has dispelled these attempts at damage control.

Bernstein’s interview with Cooper solidifies these concerns.

The timing of these revelations raises questions. Some speculate that Democrats are now openly addressing Biden’s issues because they recognize that the Joe Biden seen at Thursday’s debate is not a leader the American public will trust for another term.

“The knives are definitely out,” wrote conservative activist and commentator Charlie Kirk in a social media post featuring Bernstein’s interview.

Following the success of “All the President’s Men,” Bernstein and fellow reporter Bob Woodward wrote “The Final Days,” chronicling the period leading up to Nixon’s resignation. As for President Joe Biden, this period leading to the November 5 election and beyond to January 20, 2025, may indeed be his final days in office.
