Biden May Be Sabotaging Harris’ Campaign: Report

Some pundits are beginning to speculate that President Joe Biden may be intentionally undermining Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign to prevent her from defeating former President Donald Trump.

The theory gains traction when considering that Biden was largely sidelined by party elites who doubted his chances of re-election. If those elites believe Biden can’t win, why would he want to prove them right by supporting Harris?

Several incidents provide anecdotal evidence for this theory, as highlighted by The New York Post.

One notable moment occurred on September 11 at the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department in Pennsylvania. Biden interacted with a man wearing a Trump hat and was asked to wear it himself. Initially, Biden joked, “I ain’t going that far,” but he did briefly put on the Trump cap, which drew applause from the crowd.

When questioned about the incident on September 13, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre explained that it was a friendly gesture. “He offered a presidential hat to a man wearing a Trump cap, and in return, the man suggested the president wear his Trump hat. The president did so briefly,” she said.

Further fueling speculation, Biden seemingly distanced himself from Harris during a recent disagreement between her and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. After Harris criticized DeSantis as “selfish” for not returning her calls, Biden offered a different take when asked if the governor should have responded to Harris. “All I can tell you is I’ve talked to Governor DeSantis,” Biden said, praising the governor for his cooperation during disaster response efforts.

Even after Harris’ comments, Biden continued to commend DeSantis, stating, “The governor of Florida has been cooperative… You’re doing a great job.” Biden extended similar praise to other governors, emphasizing their support and cooperation.

These incidents have led some commentators to conclude that Biden may be intentionally sabotaging Harris. Republican strategist and Trump campaign advisor Jason Meister told The New York Post, “Biden is intentionally enacting revenge on Kamala for knifing him in the back. He never liked her. The happiest he’s looked in four years was when he put a red [Trump 2024] hat on.”

Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf added to this speculation, suggesting Biden might harbor resentment over how he was treated by the party. “It would be absolutely ridiculous to assume that he has no resentment... Nobody wants to give up being president of the United States – it’s the one job you don’t want to leave,” Sheinkopf said.

During a rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania, former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy echoed similar sentiments. He remarked that “somewhere deep down inside... I think maybe Joe Biden is actually rooting for [Trump].”

Despite these growing theories, White House spokesman Andrew Bates dismissed the accusations, asserting that Biden has fully supported Harris since leaving the campaign. Bates emphasized Biden’s commitment to a forward-looking agenda that moves away from divisiveness, such as “MAGAnomics and a national abortion ban.”
