Biden Not Personally Responsible for ‘Criminal’ Cover-Up of Mental Health: Fox Host
Fox News commentator and former professional wrestler Tyrus offered a distinct perspective on the explosive claims that President Joe Biden’s significant cognitive decline has been deliberately concealed by his inner circle since the 2020 campaign. His remarks were made during a network segment on Friday.
Tyrus spoke after anchor Shannon Bream referenced a recent Wall Street Journal report that cited numerous sources alleging Biden’s aides and advisers actively worked to obscure his condition using various strategies throughout his presidency.
Rather than placing blame on Biden, Tyrus directed criticism toward those who operated behind the scenes, accusing them of not only hiding his condition but also potentially governing the country as unelected officials.
“Reported nearly 50 sources, Wall Street Journal, page after page after page of him not meeting with his Cabinet secretaries, people not being able to get in touch with him, no access to him, him being given pre-planned questions, all of this stuff, not one question about that in the briefing today was shocking to me,” Bream said.
“Interviewing him is criminal. It’s even more criminal to interview him to go down memory lane. It’s not a joke,” Tyrus began.
“This man, whatever he was, he used to be, Father Time is doing what Father Time does. He can barely walk. He’s not in these, we know now that the staffers are making decisions and this, that, whatever,” Tyrus added. “His legacy is basically that they knew that he was unfit. We were talking during the break. If they, once they knew, if they cared about the country, they should have put Kamala in two years ago.
“Good, bad, or indifferent, she has her faculties together. Asking him now to come in and talk to Congress is criminal. He does, he cannot do it anymore,” Tyrus continued.
“The reason why there’s no fighting and arguing over President Trump interviewing and doing these things is because he can’t make that argument. And anyone else who comes out and say it, then they have to admit the fact that they’ve been making these decisions for him the whole time. I think we need to stop blaming Joe Biden and looking at who has been running the show,” Tyrus concluded.
“It’s not fair. It’s, I don’t, as a comedian, I don’t make fun of Joe Biden anymore. Because you’re making fun of somebody who can’t defend themselves.”
WATCH:
The Wall Street Journal reported that Biden’s aides deliberately worked to hide the extent of his mental decline, starting as early as his 2020 campaign and continuing throughout his presidency.
“To adapt the White House around the needs of a diminished leader, [aides] told visitors to keep meetings focused. Interactions with senior Democratic lawmakers and some cabinet members—including powerful secretaries such as Defense’s Lloyd Austin and Treasury’s Janet Yellen—were infrequent or grew less frequent,” the WSJ noted. “Some legislative leaders had a hard time getting the president’s ear at key moments, including ahead of the U.S.’s disastrous pullout from Afghanistan.”
“Senior advisers were often put into roles that some administration officials and lawmakers thought Biden should occupy, with people such as National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, senior counselor Steve Ricchetti and National Economic Council head Lael Brainard and her predecessor frequently in the position of being go-betweens for the president,” the outlet added.
The report also stated that senior staff instructed press aides to omit negative coverage from news briefings prepared for Biden, while the president avoided direct contact with pollsters, even as surveys showed him trailing in the 2024 election.
