Bill Maher Mops the Floor with Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and Barack Obama as Voter Struggles Haunt Democrats

More media outlets are starting to recognize just how poorly Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign is performing as Election Day nears.

On Friday, Bill Maher, the late-night host of "Real Time with Bill Maher," delivered a monologue in a clip shared on social media platform X, where he ridiculed Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. This week has not been favorable for the pair, especially as they’ve ramped up their media presence.

Maher, far from being a conservative, often earns praise from the right. While he’s typically an outspoken liberal, he doesn’t shy away from criticizing the left when what he sees as their misguided ideas fall apart.

WARNING: The following videos contain language that some may find offensive.

Maher started by saying, “I gotta say, it’s not looking that great for the Democrats.”

As the Harris-Walz campaign leans heavily on the vice president’s identity as a black woman, Maher highlighted racial issues, pointing out that Democrats have been working to increase support among black men.

“This is not a good sign, you know, when you have an African American candidate, you probably shouldn’t be having to shore up your support among black men but that’s what’s going on,” Maher observed.

Democrats appear concerned about this demographic, as former President Barack Obama joined Harris on the campaign trail, urging black men to back her during an event in Pittsburgh on Thursday.

A recent New York Times poll revealed that Harris has less support among black voters compared to previous Democratic candidates.

While Hillary Clinton secured 92% of the black vote in 2016, and President Joe Biden received 90% in 2020, Harris is trailing behind with just 78% support.

Among black men, the gap is even wider. The poll shows that 70% support Harris, compared to 83% of black women. Maher poked fun at the Democrats' strategy to close this gap, pointing out how bizarre it was for them to enlist Walz for the task.

“Tim Walz is headlining a voter engagement event tonight with black men. Who better to connect with young black men than Tim Walz?” Maher quipped.

The audience erupted in laughter, as Walz, indeed, seemed an unlikely choice to appeal to black men. Yet, he appeared at a voter event at Vino and Vibes Wine Bar in Utica, Michigan, on Friday.

Maher also referenced Obama’s Thursday event, where the former president was “scolding” black men for not supporting Harris, while irreverently adding, “For some young black men, especially younger black men, it’s a tough choice.”

In a jab at former President Donald Trump, Maher joked, “Harris is African American but Trump has a sneaker line.”

While Maher’s monologue offered plenty of laughs at the expense of Harris, Walz, and Obama, it also underscored the challenges facing the Harris campaign as Election Day approaches.

The Democrats are working hard in a last-ditch effort to convince voters that this ticket is viable.
