Border Patrol Union Declares 'Only One Man Can Fix' Immigration Crisis, Endorses Trump

The U.S. Border Patrol’s official union endorsed former President Donald Trump at a rally in Arizona on Sunday, declaring him as the only candidate capable of resolving the immigration crisis.

Representing approximately 18,000 Border Patrol agents, the National Border Patrol Council publicly supported Trump at a Prescott Valley campaign rally. This isn’t the first time the union has backed Trump; it made history in 2016 by endorsing him, marking the first presidential endorsement in its history. They also supported his re-election in 2020.

Paul Perez, the union’s president, issued a stark warning, stating, “If we allow Border Czar Harris to win this election, every city, every community in this great country, is going to go to hell.” He pointed to the "untold millions" of unvetted individuals that he claims have entered the U.S. under the current administration, causing a surge in violent crimes such as "murders, rapes, robberies, and burglaries," putting the nation at risk.

Perez emphasized that “Only one man can fix that, and that is Donald J. Trump. He has always stood with the men and women who protect this border.” On behalf of the 16,000 members of the Border Patrol Council, he declared their “strong support and endorsement” for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

During his speech, Perez described Trump as a leader who understands what it means to “put his life on the line for what is right.” He also criticized the potential outcomes for the U.S.-Mexico border if Kamala Harris were to win the presidency.

The Border Patrol union’s third consecutive endorsement of Trump aligns with his campaign’s strong focus on immigration reform. At the rally, Trump vowed to prioritize immigration enforcement, pledging to hire 10,000 more Border Patrol agents, approve a 10% pay increase for them, and provide signing bonuses.

Since the Biden-Harris administration took office, over seven million migrants have been detained at the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Customs and Border Protection. Polls show that Vice President Kamala Harris, who is currently running closely against Trump, struggles with voter confidence regarding border security issues.

Former Border Patrol officials have also raised concerns about transparency, alleging that key members of the Biden-Harris administration have tried to obscure the severity of the border crisis from the public eye.
