Breaking: RFK Jr. Confirmed - 52 of 53 Republicans Vote 'Yes'

The Senate officially confirmed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the new Secretary of Health and Human Services following a vote on Thursday.

The final count stood at 52 to 48.

With the exception of Mitch McConnell from Kentucky, all Republican senators backed RFK Jr.’s confirmation.

Not a single Democrat voted in favor of his appointment.

McConnell, who had polio during childhood, opposed Kennedy’s stance on concerns that “America’s youth are being over-vaccinated.”

As reported by The Hill, McConnell did not hold a meeting with RFK Jr. before the confirmation hearings.

Kennedy, once a Democrat but now an independent, endorsed Donald Trump in August after stepping away from his presidential campaign. He stated that Trump had assured him a position focused on addressing the nation’s health crisis, particularly among young people.

During an October rally at Madison Square Garden, Trump declared, “I’m going to let him go wild on health. I’m going to let him go wild on the food. I’m going to let him go wild on medicines.”

The Department of Health and Human Services oversees multiple key agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare, and the National Institutes of Health.

While campaigning alongside Trump, RFK Jr. adopted the slogan Make America Healthy Again, aligning with the Make America Great Again message and drawing in support from across the political spectrum.

His endorsement was likely a key factor in Trump’s decisive victories across seven swing states in November.
