Breaking: Shots Fired at Trump Golf Event – Secret Service Reacts Swiftly, Ensures Trump's Safety

Just two months after surviving an assassination attempt, former President Donald Trump was once again rushed to safety following reports of possible gunfire nearby.

The incident occurred at Trump’s Trump International Golf Course, located near West Palm Beach, Florida, as reported by NBC.

“President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. No further details at this time,” stated Steven Cheung, a representative from Trump’s campaign.

In an official statement, the Secret Service confirmed: “The Secret Service, in conjunction with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating a protective incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. The former president is safe.”

According to CNN, one individual has been detained in connection with the event.

The CNN report, based on unnamed sources, suggested that the Secret Service fired at the suspect. A weapon, described as a long gun, was reportedly recovered at the scene.

“The Martin County Sheriff’s Office has stopped a vehicle and taken a suspect into custody believed to be connected to a shooting incident at Trump International in Palm Beach County. We will update this information as it becomes available,” the police department announced in a Facebook post.

Sources cited by CNN suggested the armed individual might have been targeting Trump at the golf course.

NBC further reported that a senior law enforcement official confirmed Trump was quickly moved to safety after sounds resembling gunfire were heard.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina spoke with Trump following the event and shared: “He is one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. He’s in good spirits and he is more resolved than ever to save our country,” he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

This incident closely follows an assassination attempt on Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a few weeks ago. In that incident, Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump in the ear before being killed by a counter-sniper. One attendee died, and two others were injured.

This is a developing story.
