Confused and Delusional Jimmy Kimmel Breaks Down in Tears as He Responds to Trump's Victory

For nine years, they've had ample time to reflect on their behavior, confront their "ugliness," and change. Yet, they haven’t.

Now, with Donald Trump’s triumphant victory in the 2024 election, Trump supporters have two paths. We can either disregard celebrities and others suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome," or we can choose to mock their moral grandstanding, marvel at their lack of self-awareness, and enjoy how little their “deranged opinions” truly matter.

Take, for example, Wednesday night on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, where anti-Trump host Jimmy Kimmel, known for his strong anti-Trump stance, got choked up twice during his opening monologue—a prime moment for those who find amusement in “TDS-afflicted” celebrities.

In fact, it’s not just Trump voters who will find Kimmel’s monologue amusing. Anyone with an eye for “narcissistic absurdity” can appreciate it.

The show began with a skit featuring Kimmel in his office, packing up after Trump’s victory. Show regular Guillermo Rodriguez interrupted, pleading with Kimmel not to leave the country.

“Jimmy, we need you. We need you to help us get through this. You have a very important voice,” Rodriguez told him.

Without missing a beat, the unself-aware host agreed to stay, as he considers himself, after all, “very important.”

Soon after, during his monologue, Kimmel showed he still doesn’t grasp the political revolution Trump has sparked.

“This Donald Trump, he’s like the Emperor from Star Wars: He’s old, he’s evil, and he keeps coming back with no reasonable explanation whatsoever,” Kimmel joked.

What followed was five minutes of stale jokes, culminating in what might be the pinnacle of “TDS-inspired meltdowns.”

The highlight, though, was Kimmel’s dramatic reaction: “Let’s be honest, it was a terrible night last night,” he said. “It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hardworking immigrants who make this country go…”

At this, Kimmel’s voice broke, drawing applause as he lowered his head in an exaggerated show of empathy.

The display continued moments later.

“For health care,” he went on, “for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech. It was a terrible night for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on Social Security, for our allies in Ukraine…”

His voice broke once again, prompting another round of applause.

For those with an “exceptionally high tolerance for folly,” the entire scene can be viewed below, with Kimmel’s “terrible” list of grievances beginning around the 7:44 mark.

But let’s set aside Kimmel’s grandstanding and oversized sense of self-importance for a moment (journalism? free speech?).

Instead, consider what really brought him to tears: illegal immigration and Ukraine. His focus on these issues reveals his empathy toward foreigners and his belief in his own moral virtue—even if it means prioritizing foreign interests over those of Americans and sacrificing U.S. sovereignty to boost his self-image.

The divide between ordinary Trump supporters and elites like Kimmel has never felt so vast.

Still, Trump supporters face a choice. We could ignore people like Kimmel and go about our day.

Or we could laugh at them.

For those who lean toward the latter, a clip circulating on X with over 3.1 million views by Thursday morning might leave you in stitches, as it did for me.

And as for Kimmel’s claim that Trump’s win has “no reasonable explanation whatsoever”?

That’s irrelevant. Ignore him, if you prefer. Or laugh at him.

After all, we had plenty of reasons for voting for Trump—and Kimmel isn’t one of them.
