Did This Biden Video Make the Shooter Pull the Trigger?

On Saturday, Former President Donald Trump was shot, sparking a wave of accusations directed at Democrats, including the current president of the United States.

Trump, the Republican candidate for the upcoming November election, was delivering a speech at a rally in Pennsylvania when the incident occurred.

A bullet struck Trump in the ear, causing his face to bleed, before Secret Service agents responded with gunfire, killing the suspect, as reported by the Associated Press.

The shooting resulted in the death of one attendee and critically injured two others.

Numerous conservatives and Trump supporters attribute the violence to the intense rhetoric from left-wing voices.

They argue that the shooting was a foreseeable outcome of the ongoing comparisons of Trump to Hitler and assertions that Republicans pose an existential threat to democracy, perpetuated by media outlets and Democrats over the years.

Among those who have engaged in such rhetoric is President Joe Biden.

For instance, on September 1, 2022, Biden delivered a speech in which he labeled Trump and his supporters as extremist threats to the nation.

The speech occurred at Independence National Historic Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the same state where Trump was later shot.

“Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic,” Biden stated, according to the White House transcript.

“Now, I want to be very clear … very clear up front: Not every Republican, not even the majority of Republicans, are MAGA Republicans. Not every Republican embraces their extreme ideology.”

“But there is no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that is a threat to this country.”

Biden also claimed that “MAGA Republicans” are unconstitutional and do not believe in the rule of law because they questioned the results of the 2020 election, similar to how Democrats questioned the 2016 election results.

“MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards — backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love,” Biden said.

“They promote authoritarian leaders, and they fan the flames of political violence that are a threat to our personal rights, to the pursuit of justice, to the rule of law, to the very soul of this country.”

Biden cited the January 6 Capitol incursion as an example of “MAGA” extremism.

It is noteworthy that the FBI found minimal evidence suggesting the incursion was a coordinated attack. Trump had urged his supporters at the Capitol to remain peaceful, and all four people who died at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, were Trump supporters—two from heart attacks, one from a drug overdose, and the fourth was shot by Capitol police.

The anti-Trump rhetoric has not diminished following Saturday’s shooting.

Several mainstream media outlets have suggested that the anger from Republicans upset over the shooting poses a dangerous threat that could lead to further violence.
