Elizabeth Warren Tries Attacking Pete Hegseth, And It Blows Up in Her Face Spectacularly
Virtue-signaling liberals, such as Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, possess a distinct knack for dishonesty.
Thanks to President-elect Donald Trump, Warren has become a particularly clownish figure, more apt to be mocked than taken seriously.
On Tuesday, Warren took to X, where she, whom Trump has labeled “Pocahontas” due to her exaggerated claims of Native American heritage, disparaged combat veteran Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, as merely a “Fox & Friends weekend co-host.” This sparked a wave of justified outrage and amusing ridicule of the senator.
As Warren herself acknowledged, Hegseth has indeed co-hosted “FOX & Friends Weekend” since 2017.
However, she failed to note that Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Defense has also served in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Guantanamo Bay.
“A Fox & Friends weekend co-host is not qualified to be the Secretary of Defense,” Warren posted. “I lead the Senate military personnel panel. All three of my brothers served in uniform. I respect every one of our servicemembers. Donald Trump’s pick will make us less safe and must be rejected.”
Naturally, dismissing Hegseth as a mere TV host while omitting his military service record represents a particular form of slander.
Thankfully, as usual, X users responded to the senator’s audacity without hesitation.
“Hey Pocahontas, do you not know that Pete Hegseth is a two-decade veteran who served in combat?” one user commented.
“23andMe says he is greater than 90% Hooah. How’s your genetic testing going Chief?” quipped another, humorously referencing Warren’s previous claims to Native American ancestry.
Meanwhile, other users bypassed Warren’s heritage claims entirely, focusing instead on setting the record straight regarding Hegseth’s service.
By doing so, they exposed the inconsistency in Warren’s statement that she “respects every one of our servicemembers.”
It’s also relevant to highlight the CNN post Warren responded to.
“President-elect Donald Trump announced that he’s chosen Fox News host Pete Hegseth to serve as his secretary of defense,” stated the post from the mainstream outlet.
In other words, the senator wasn’t alone in slandering Hegseth through selective omission.
Still, as one of Trump’s nominee’s loudest critics, Warren earned the special brand of derision that followed.
Ultimately, virtue-signaling liberals like Warren stand out for their self-righteousness, often claiming moral superiority over those with whom they disagree. Yet, she and others in her circle regularly lean on claims of ancestry — whether factual or embellished — as proof of virtue.
To sum up, critics of that kind — those whose entire worldview is built on distortions — fully warrant the mockery they receive.
