Emmy-Winning 'NYPD Blue' Actress Arrested on Felony Charge
An Emmy-winning actress known for playing a police detective found herself entangled in legal trouble over the weekend.
Kim Delaney, 65, was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with assault following what authorities described as a "domestic disturbance at her home," as reported by NBC News.
According to the outlet, "Delaney remained behind bars with no bail listed Sunday afternoon, according to sheriff’s inmate records, which listed the allegation against her as a felony."
Her husband, James Morgan, 54, was also arrested "on suspicion of domestic violence," but his charge was classified as a misdemeanor. He was released the same day after posting a $20,000 bond.

Several media outlets, including the New York Post, stated that Delaney's charge was "assault likely to produce great bodily injury."
TMZ reported that the altercation was "a heated argument that turned physical," with paramedics being dispatched to assess both individuals before they were taken into custody.
The Post noted, "Two weeks ago, Delaney posted a photo of herself cuddled up to Morgan with a caption that reads, 'Pure love.'"
The report also mentioned, "In October, the couple celebrated their second wedding anniversary together."
People magazine highlighted that Delaney "previously celebrated Morgan’s birthday in April" and referred to him as "the one I get to spend all my days with."
Delaney portrayed Detective Diane Russell in 137 episodes of "NYPD Blue" from 1995 to 2003, earning a prime-time Emmy for the role in 1997, per IMDB. She also received two additional Emmy nominations and was twice a Golden Globe nominee for the same character.
Her acting credits extend to "Law & Order," "Army Wives," "CSI: Miami," "General Hospital," and "All My Children," among other productions.
The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department stated that deputies from the Marina Del Rey station responded to a "domestic disturbance" call at the couple’s residence around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, as reported by KTLA-TV.
A statement from LASD, quoted by the news outlet, said, "Subsequent to an investigation by deputies, Mrs. Kim Delaney was arrested for an assault with a deadly weapon and Mr. James Morgan was arrested for battery."
KTLA further noted, "It was unclear if Delaney had also been released as of Monday morning."
NBC News reported that the actress' representatives "did not immediately respond to a request for comment Sunday evening."
According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department website, Delaney was set to appear in Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday morning.
