Former Dem Insider Reveals Obama’s ‘True Role’ In Biden-Harris Admin

A former Democratic National Committee (DNC) official recently confirmed a belief long held by many regarding Joe Biden’s presidency—namely, that it functioned as a “third term” for former President Barack Obama.
During an interview on the “Shawn Ryan Show,” former DNC fundraiser Lindy Li shed light on the matter.
“A lot of people say it was Obama’s third term. There’s rumors of… And these aren’t even… These are friends of mine that are moderate Democrats, say that they thought it was Elizabeth Warren running it. They thought it was Bernie Sanders running it,” the host remarked. “But I think the general consensus, I think if you asked the majority of the population, they think it was Obama’s third term.”
Li agreed with this perspective, responding, “It was for sure Obama’s third term. I don’t think that’s even a question.”
She elaborated, explaining that Obama’s political engagement during the midterm elections underscored his vested interest in the administration’s trajectory. “That’s why you saw Obama fighting for his dear life. Why was he fighting so hard in the fall? Because he was fighting for his fourth term. He was fighting for his own legacy,” Li asserted, drawing a historical parallel between Biden and Obama and the relationship between John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson.
“JFK had little respect for Lyndon B. Johnson, but he picked him anyway because he wanted to win the South. He wanted to win Texas. But he had very little respect for LBJ’s intellect. JFK was surrounded by his Harvard Braintrust, and he had immense disdain for LBJ’s Texas Hill country vibe,” she noted.
Li suggested that Obama shared a similar attitude toward Biden, stating, “That was the same attitude that Obama had towards Biden. Obama thought that Biden would eventually f–k everything up. That’s eventually actually what happened. But also, he didn’t have much faith in Kamala Harris.”
She went on to discuss the speculation that Obama had considered other candidates for leadership roles within the Democratic Party. “Before she ascended to the top role, [Obama] was vetting people like [Arizona Democratic Sen.] Mark Kelly and [Kentucky Gov.] Andy Beshear. Most people, most party chieftains, didn’t have Kamala Harris as their number one choice. But in the party of DEI, you can’t skip a black woman. The optics would have been terrible,” she claimed.
According to Li, Biden’s presidency was significantly influenced by his personal legal team and senior advisors, including Steve Ricchetti, Anita Dunn, and Mike Donilon. She also pointed to figures like Biden’s former chief of staff Ron Klain, along with key aides Jeff Zients and Bob Bauer, as central to shaping the administration’s direction.
Li further criticized Harris, alleging that she secured celebrity endorsements through financial incentives. “Despite her repeated denials, Beyoncé was paid,” Li stated.
She continued, “Cardi B, who famously said she wasn’t paid. Her production company was paid to show up,” and added, “Katy Perry was paid. Christina Aguilera was paid. Oprah wasn’t paid a million. She was paid $2 million. $2 million to Harpo Productions.”
In a separate appearance on “Fox & Friends Weekend” in November, Li spoke out about what she described as misleading assurances from top campaign officials, calling the effort an “epic disaster.”
Lindy Li, who personally raised “millions” for Harris, told co-host Will Cain that the campaign had made numerous false promises. She claimed officials repeatedly asserted that internal polling showed Harris would decisively defeat Donald Trump.
“This is just an epic disaster. This is a one-billion-dollar disaster,” Li remarked, highlighting that Harris’s campaign spent $1 billion yet ended up with substantial debt.
“It’s incredible, and I raised millions of that. I have friends that I have to be accountable to and to explain what happened because I told them it was a margin of error race,” she said.
Li accused Harris’s campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, of misleading surrogates by producing promotional materials to reinforce a narrative of inevitable victory. “I believed her. My daughters believed her. And so, they wrote massive checks,” Li told the Fox News co-host. “I feel like a lot of us were misled.”
