Fox Anchor Breaks Down As He Revealed Personal Family Experience

A Fox Business anchor grew emotional live on air as he shared a poignant family story from his childhood. Charles Payne recounted how his family took a significant financial gamble when they purchased a farm in Alabama back in 1951.

During Payne’s Thursday town hall event, titled “Maintaining Unstoppable Prosperity,” the host encouraged his audience to embrace financial risks when investing in the market. To illustrate his point, Payne shared a deeply personal story about his grandparents and the sacrifices they made to buy 60 acres of land in the early 1950s.

Payne revealed that a family member recently located the deed to the farm, emphasizing that his grandparents were “a Black family that saved up everything.”

“I need to share some of this with you because it’s such a powerful message for anyone who thinks investing in something like Amazon is risky,” Payne said, his voice filled with emotion. “They gave everything they had for the property.”

He then began reading from the deed, explaining the sacrifices his family made:
“It says, ‘we do hereby grant, bargain, and sell and convey unto the seller to describe the personal property and crops which are owned by us freely. One red horse mule named Red. One gray horse mule named Jack. One two-horse wagon, one hay mover, one hay press, nine head of mixed cattle, a cell hog, some wagons, mowers, presses.’”

As his voice wavered, Payne reflected on their hard work and determination: “My grandparents gave everything. Everything they had. They worked their a off for years, and they gave it all for 60 acres to have their own. That’s a risk, folks. That’s a risk. I’m so grateful.”**

In February, Payne was involved in a heated on-air debate with former Fox News contributor Geraldo Rivera during a segment on “Hannity.” The exchange followed a discussion about President Joe Biden’s trip to Ukraine.

Hannity argued that Biden had fallen short in aiding Ukraine after canceling a proposed deal to provide Polish fighter jets to the war-torn country.
“If we’re going to give $120 billion to Ukraine and then Joe Biden has now not once, but a number of times, he has vetoed other European countries from giving fighter jets so that they can compete with Putin in the air,” Hannity said. “And there’s no reason to do that except, he’s not fighting to win the war.”

Payne chimed in, agreeing with the sentiment. “It’s a proxy war,” Payne said. “I think the administration’s happy if it’s just bogged down. If you can bog Russia down, they lose a lot of people.”

Payne later criticized what he called staged theatrics during Biden’s visit to Ukraine. “The only thing I did not like about President Biden’s visit was the air raid sirens. That was the most phony baloney stuff. The air raid sirens hadn’t gone on ’cause they hadn’t gone off for five days,” Payne said. Rivera interrupted, saying, “They’ve lost 100,000 people.”

Payne doubled down: “Air raid sirens had not gone off in that city in five days. It was phony baloney Hollywood junk.” Rivera, visibly upset, fired back: “I absolutely disagree.”

The heated exchange continued, with Rivera accusing Payne of making a “partisan jab.” Payne, however, insisted his point was valid. “Russia was notified that Biden was coming. Do you think Russia was gonna drop a bomb on President Biden?!”

Rivera disputed the claim, saying, “Russia was not notified.” But Payne was correct. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan confirmed at the time, saying:
“We did notify the Russians that President Biden would be traveling to Kyiv. We did so some hours before his departure for deconfliction purposes,” Sullivan told reporters, according to ABC News.

Sullivan further added, “Because of the sensitive nature of those communications, I won’t get into how they responded or what the precise nature of our message was. But I can confirm that we provided that notification.”
