Fox Host Leaves Quickly During Mid-Show: ‘I’m VERY Sick’

Fox Sports 1’s Colin Cowherd left fans in shock on Monday afternoon when he unexpectedly departed his show, The Herd, less than 15 minutes into the first hour.

The veteran sports commentator, known for his strong takes and animated discussions, was in the middle of breaking down the major trade that sent Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers when he suddenly halted mid-sentence.

“The bottom line here is I think we’re going to get a more dedicated Luka. Folks, I’m going to take a break. I am getting very, very sick very, very quickly on this set, and we will return,” Cowherd stated before the broadcast cut away.

The abrupt exit quickly sparked online chatter, with viewers and sports analysts taking to social media to weigh in. Some fans noted that Cowherd appeared to be visibly unwell before stepping away, while others took a more lighthearted approach, joking that the Luka trade itself might have been too much for him to handle.

Fox Sports 1 soon addressed concerns regarding Cowherd’s health. “Colin is doing OK. Thank you for your concerns. Colin is under the weather, and Jason McIntyre is filling in,” the show’s official X account shared.

At this time, there are no further updates on Cowherd’s condition, and it remains uncertain whether he will return to the show immediately or require time off to recover.

Fans responded in mixed fashion, with some offering well-wishes while others found humor in the situation.

“Cowherd said later he became ill because he had the thought go through his mind that Kamala cheated in the election like Brandon and was actually elected president,” one X user commented.

“The Luka trade even makes him sick,” another joked.

“Flu or norovirus. I can speak from recent experience, it is a sudden, overwhelming onslaught of awfulness. Glad I was on my couch when it hit. Couldn’t imagine being live on air,” someone else chimed in.

“Trade was so trash he had to go throw up,” another user quipped.

Cowherd is well-known for his outspoken and often controversial takes on sports. He hosts The Herd with Colin Cowherd, a daily sports talk program broadcast on Fox Sports Radio and FS1.

His career began in local radio before he gained national recognition at ESPN, where he hosted The Herd from 2004 to 2015. After parting ways with ESPN following a contentious remark about Dominican baseball players, he transitioned to Fox Sports, continuing his broadcasting career.

In addition to his radio and television roles, Cowherd co-founded The Volume, a podcast network that explores both sports and pop culture.

Meanwhile, newly solo Fox News host Will Cain recently set a record with his show, The Will Cain Show.

His debut episode pulled in an impressive 3.5 million viewers, with 451,000 in the key 25-54 demographic, according to network reports.

“Rookie mistake. Set the bar too high,” Cain remarked in response to the milestone.

“The Will Cain Show with 3.5 million P2+ and 451,000 A25-54. Will Cain increases the 4pm slot vs. same period last year by more than double with P2+ and by more than triple with A25-54 and A18-49. Will Cain’s share of the cable news audience for his debut was 68% with P2+, 73% with A25-54 and 71% with A18-49. Debut was a top 10 telecast in all TV vs. all cable and broadcast prime Thank you! Awesome start!” he posted on X.
