Fox News Legacy Host Sean Hannity Makes Life-Changing Move

Fox News host Sean Hannity’s luxurious mansion in the New York area has been sold to a "fan" of the television personality, resulting in a significant profit.

“After a bidding war, Sean Hannity’s waterfront Long Island estate has sold for roughly $12.7 million to a fan of the Fox News star, according to listing agent Shawn Elliott of Nest Seekers International,” The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this week. “The ‘Hannity’ host put the estate on the market for $13.75 million in May, a few months after announcing his move from New York to Florida.”

Elliott did not reveal the buyer’s identity, highlighting only their admiration for Hannity and his shows. The buyer also purchased the furniture and books in the Oyster Bay, N.Y., house, pushing the total sale price over $13 million. The deal was finalized on June 7, the WSJ reported.

The estate spans approximately 11,000 square feet, the report mentioned. “I think there was a little bit of a star factor,” Elliott noted. He also said the buyer “got a great deal.” With features like a private dock on Oyster Bay, a par-3 golf course, and a separate putting green, the nearly 6-acre estate received four offers and went into contract within a week, Elliott stated. Additionally, the property boasts a swimming pool and a lighted tennis court, the WSJ added.

An entity linked to Hannity originally purchased the waterfront property for $8.5 million in 2008, according to property records. Hannity invested several million dollars in renovations, Elliott noted.

Elliott, who marketed the property alongside his colleague and son Zachary Elliott, mentioned that the luxury market is currently seeing a surge in activity. “There’s such a limited amount of inventory right now and there’s tremendous demand,” he said, adding that Hannity’s buyer made a cash offer with favorable terms. “Sean got a great buyer who wanted to close in 30 days,” he stated.

Hannity announced in January that he had moved from New York, his home state, to the “free” state of Florida, where he has been broadcasting ever since.

“If anybody has been listening to this program for any length of time, they know I’ve been threatening to do this for quite a while. But we are now beginning our first broadcast from my new home, and that is in the free state of Florida. I am out. I am done. I’m finished,” Hannity declared.

“New York, New York. Goodbye. Florida. Florida. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. But it’s great to be here. And I will tell you, one of the things that I was told either before, Linda, but feeling good tonight, by the way, and I’m that because she entertains everybody. I bet she was entertaining every day working or not working. And no, she worked a number of days. But and she’s such a good entertainer and such a great host is that anyone would want her back as soon as we can. I was told even before this that it just it just the time was right. I was able to put the final exclamation points on what needed to be done. And here I am,” Hannity said.

“And finally, for the first time that I can think of in my adult life, I actually have representatives in the state that I’m living in that share my values. I have a governor by the name of Ron DeSantis and Senators Marco Rubio and Senator Rick Scott,” he added.

Years ago, conservative talk radio giant Rush Limbaugh also relocated from New York to Florida, citing similar reasons such as high expenses, regulations, and left-wing politics in the Empire State.

Limbaugh moved to West Palm Beach, where he hosted his weekday show. His home was listed last year by Limbaugh’s widow, Kathryn Adams Limbaugh, and was purchased for $155 million by an anonymous buyer through an LLC in March.

Limbaugh passed away from lung cancer in February 2021.
