Fox’s Tammy Bruce Blasts Harris Over ‘Funky’ Accent During Rally Speech

Fox News host and contributor Tammy Bruce, along with the panel of “Outnumbered,” criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for adopting a Southern accent during a rally in North Carolina, accusing her of trying to sound more “southern.”

Harris was addressing union members in the key battleground state when Gerri Willis, a panelist from North Carolina, described her accent as “extremely false.”

“We are just 63 days away from Election Day. Happy September. And in some key swing states, early voting starts in just a few days,” Bruce began the discussion. “Recent national polls show a tight race between former President Trump and Vice President Harris. Many polls are within the margin of error.”

“However, there’s still uncertainty about Harris’s policies. Her official website doesn’t outline any platform, and since August 6th, when she announced Tim Walz as her running mate, she’s only done one interview,” Bruce added. “By contrast, Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance have given at least 34 interviews during the same period.”

Bruce continued, “Harris is now being accused of a new strategy to avoid the press. Yesterday, she walked past a group of reporters wearing headphones, waving and adjusting her earbuds, as if to show, ‘I’m on the phone,’ before boarding a flight without taking any questions.”

“Yeah, it feels like an alternate reality,” Bruce speculated. “But the real issue here is that Americans are starting to understand how policies directly affect their everyday lives. It’s not abstract. With kids going back to school, parents are facing real concerns—gas prices, food costs, rent. This is what Americans care about, right? Or are they noticing she hasn’t given any policy specifics?”

Willis replied, “That’s exactly it—it’s the economy. And she’s not addressing it in any meaningful way. When she does talk about it, it’s disconnected from how the economy actually works. People understand the rising costs of basic items—bread, eggs, steak. I tried buying a steak recently. Forget it.”

Referring to Harris’s speech, Willis noted, “As someone from North Carolina, I found her attempt at a Southern accent bizarre.”

Bruce then played a clip of Harris’s rally, introducing it by saying, “People compared her accent to Foghorn Leghorn. Let’s listen to the tape.”

In the clip, Harris told the audience, “Ya better thank a union member for paid leave. Ya better thank a union member for vacation time. Thank unions for sick leave, for paid family leave.”

“That just sounds strange,” Bruce commented. “She’s not from the South, and it doesn’t feel authentic.”

Willis added, “It doesn’t come across as genuine, and that’s the issue. When someone tries to imitate that, it feels like they’re looking down on us. There’s this underlying sense that they think less of people from the South.”
