GOP Senator Calls Out Jimmy Kimmel for 'On-Air Incitement of Criminal Behavior' After He Goes Too Far

The left have returned to their familiar tactics in opposing President Donald Trump: resorting to violence and damaging property.
With Department of Government Efficiency chair and Tesla owner Elon Musk backing Trump, these acts of destruction are now aimed at countering his support for the president’s policies.
In response, radical leftist activists have begun targeting Tesla owners, vandalizing their vehicles as a protest against Musk and DOGE’s efforts to reduce federal spending. Predictably, late-night talk show hosts have taken the opportunity to weigh in, with Jimmy Kimmel applauding these actions on his program.
Utah Republican Sen. Mike Lee is pushing back, demanding to know whether ABC stands behind what was broadcast on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
On Wednesday, Lee shared a video clip on social media platform X, showcasing Kimmel’s monologue in which he discussed the Tesla vandalism, asking, “Does ABC approve of Jimmy Kimmel’s on-air incitement of criminal behavior?”
He further questioned whether the network would address the matter, stating, “Will ABC take any action or make any statement in response to it? If not, why not?”

During the clip, Kimmel remarks, “People have been vandalizing Tesla vehicles, new Tesla vehicles. Please, don’t vandalize, don’t ever vandalize Tesla vehicles,” pausing for dramatic effect in what was clearly an insinuative “wink-wink nudge-nudge” moment, drawing laughter from the audience.
While this particular statement drew Lee’s criticism, Kimmel went further in the monologue, jesting about Molotov cocktails being thrown at Teslas and commenting to Musk, “When you pull out a chainsaw to celebrate firing thousands of people, they get mad.”
Labeling these incidents as domestic terrorism is not an exaggeration.
Attorney General Pam Bondi made that clear in a press release issued Tuesday.
“The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism. The Department of Justice has already charged several perpetrators with that in mind, including in cases that involve charges with five-year mandatory minimum sentences,” the statement declared.
ABC should publicly address Kimmel’s reckless remarks.
From the comfort of a studio, a multimillionaire late-night host can easily encourage lawlessness without acknowledging the serious implications of his words.
While Lee specifically referred to Kimmel’s statements as “incitement of criminal behavior,” which they undoubtedly are, they also serve as an implicit endorsement of domestic terrorism.
Why should Kimmel escape accountability?
He cannot continue to use his role as a comedian as a free pass for everything he says.
As an outspoken leftist with a distinct political agenda, he should be recognized and treated accordingly.
