‘Gotta Go!’: Trump Rushes Cop Speech As Fans At Rally Get Restless

Arizona Police Association President Justin Harris encountered a surprising moment during a speech when the crowd began chanting for former President Donald Trump to take the stage instead.

At Trump events, guest speakers typically address the audience before the main event. Occasionally, someone will speak while Trump is present. At a rally in Glendale, Arizona, Harris took the stage to make an important statement with Trump standing right behind him.

Introducing Harris, Trump humorously noted the similarity in last names between Harris and his political opponent, saying, "I will always support our law enforcement heroes in blue." Trump often refers to those arrested on January 6 as "patriots" and "hostages."

Harris spoke for about 11 minutes, but as the audience grew restless, Trump urged him to speed up, saying, "Gotta go! Need to go!"

As the crowd clamored for Trump, Harris assured them he was nearly finished, speaking for two more minutes before handing over the stage:

DONALD TRUMP: "I will always support our law enforcement heroes in blue!"

JUSTIN HARRIS: "Good evening, everyone. I’m a little concerned about that illegal immigration chart you put up. Was that a spike in immigration or inflation? Maybe both, right?"

...

JUSTIN HARRIS: "Illegal drugs are entering this country at an alarming rate, with only 5% intercepted at the border."

DONALD TRUMP: "Gotta go! Gotta go!"

CROWD: "We love you, Trump! TRUMP! TRUMP! TRUMP!"

JUSTIN HARRIS: "Let me wrap up here. Our country, our families, our communities, and everything we hold dear cannot withstand another four years of a president who cares more about curtains than the safety and prosperity of our nation and its people. It’s clear who supports law enforcement and law and order, and that’s President Trump."

...

"Vote Donald J. Trump for president. That’s why the Arizona Police Association, along with our 12,000 members, families, and friends, proudly endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States. Thank you, and God bless."

DONALD TRUMP: "Thank you very much. Wow, that’s a great endorsement. It means a lot."

This endorsement comes amid reports of growing financial concerns among Americans. A recent survey revealed that nearly 40% of Americans are worried about being able to pay all their bills on time—a higher percentage than during the Great Recession of 2008-09.

According to a CNN poll, 39% of Americans are concerned about consistently paying their bills, a 33% increase since the peak of "Bidenflation," surpassing the 37% worry level during the 2008 crisis, when unemployment neared 10%, the outlet reported.

Inflation under the Biden-Harris administration has reached new heights in the modern era, and while it has slightly eased in recent months, it remains stubbornly high, raising the costs of essentials like food, gasoline, housing, and utilities. CNN noted that "consumers are still trying to catch up to the price spikes of the last few years."

The Daily Signal, referencing the survey, added:

"Still trying to catch up" might be an understatement. The gap between nominal wages and inflation-adjusted wages since 2021 is over 20%. Although it may seem like wages are higher, workers have lost thousands in income when considering official inflation.

If official inflation numbers are inaccurate, as suggested by real-world prices from housing to groceries, workers may have lost much more.

For example, official inflation since COVID-19 is 21%, but fast-food prices—a common proxy for true inflation—have more than doubled, while housing costs have skyrocketed due to rising prices and mortgage rates.

If these real-world figures are closer to true inflation, workers could be losing thousands of dollars each month.

CNN also reported that 35% of respondents, or over one-third, have had to take on additional part-time work to make ends meet. This includes 44% of Black individuals, 52% of Latinos, and nearly half of workers under age 45.

"This could explain why job numbers are increasing on paper, but the actual number of employed Americans has dropped by 600,000 over the past eight months," the Daily Signal added.

The poll also found that over two-thirds of Americans are cutting back on grocery spending, and nearly half are driving less to save on gas.

Additionally, 4 in 10 Americans are using credit cards to cover essential expenses like groceries and gas.
