Greg Gutfeld Reveals Jaw-Dropping Reason For Recent Absence
When Fox News personality Greg Gutfeld shared surprising family news with his late-night audience, his internet fans erupted in celebration.
The 60-year-old Gutfeld has become a father for the first time. While he wasn’t present to share the announcement personally, his colleague Kat Timpf filled in viewers on his recent absence.
“America has been wondering where Greg has been. Well, the mystery’s been solved. If you saw The Five earlier today, you know he’s now the proud dad of a beautiful baby girl,” Timpf revealed, prompting cheers and applause from the studio audience.
Despite being away, Gutfeld ensured his audience wasn’t left out by sending a personal message, which Timpf read on his behalf.
“It is with great joy that my wife, Elena, and I have welcomed a baby girl into the world. Mira is healthy with a real set of lungs. She has Elena’s beautiful eyes and my rock-hard abs. We are hard at work teaching her three languages and putting her through a rigorous workout routine,” he joked.
“She’s already very observant and has asked if Jesse wears a toupee. I told her he definitely wears a wig,” the message continued, drawing laughter from the audience.
“As you can understand, we value our privacy. We thank everyone for their good wishes. And now I have to go stop Gus from licking her face,” he added humorously, referencing his dog.
Gutfeld’s decision to become a first-time dad at 60 was met with praise by the show’s guest panel on Tuesday night. “Think about it. He’s financially secure. He values the time he has now,” one guest said, earning laughter and applause. “He won’t miss her first steps, and he can afford to make it to all her baseball games. It’s a great time to be a dad.”
Gutfeld married Elena Mousa in 2004 and joined Fox News three years later as the host of Red Eye, a late-night show airing at 2 a.m. His unique, irreverent style drove the program’s ratings to unexpected heights, eventually moving it to an 11 p.m. slot. By 2011, he was part of The Five, and in 2015, he earned his own show, which evolved into Gutfeld! in 2021. His late-night program quickly outpaced competitors like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel Live in ratings.
In addition to becoming a dad, Gutfeld’s next four years will likely feature his continued commentary on President-elect Donald Trump’s administration. In one memorable moment, he engaged directly with Trump, who responded to Vice President Kamala Harris’s proposals on price controls.
“Hey Mr. President, I’m live now! Say hello to my audience,” Gutfeld said as the crowd erupted in laughter. “So don’t say anything that’ll get you in trouble!”
The exchange ended on a high note as Gutfeld wished Trump well and affectionately referred to him as “Mr. P.”
