Group Launches Investigation Into Biden-Harris Admin Over Immigration
A legal watchdog organization has launched a series of investigations into the rise of a dangerous Venezuelan gang in the U.S.
America First Legal has initiated inquiries into the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), according to a press release.
The focus of these investigations is on the increasing presence of the Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang, a violent group, in Aurora, Colorado.
“Today, America First Legal (AFL) commenced investigations into the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), regarding the spread of violent illegal alien gang activity in Aurora, Colorado, Chicago, Illinois, and western Wisconsin,” the group stated in the press release.
“On August 29, 2024, viral surveillance footage revealed members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang carrying firearms and entering an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado. Reports indicate they engaged in trespassing, assault, unlawful firearm possession, and other criminal activities. On September 3, 2024, a distress call from Chicago, Illinois, linked Venezuelan gang members to an armed takeover of a city building. Later that same week, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, authorities in western Wisconsin apprehended an alleged Tren de Aragua member on multiple charges, including domestic violence,” the group added.
“These criminals would not be here if the U.S. had secured its southern border. Consequently, AFL has requested records from DHS and the FBI concerning the presence of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang in Colorado, Illinois, and Wisconsin. AFL also demanded records of communication between local law enforcement in each state and the federal government to expose any correspondence the Biden-Harris administration may have received regarding this escalating public safety threat,” the release continued.
“AFL remains committed to defending the safety of all Americans and combating the recklessness enabled by the Biden-Harris administration’s immigration policies,” the organization emphasized.
“The Biden-Harris administration’s deliberate decision to open our borders to the world is what has allowed violent Venezuelan gangs to flourish in American neighborhoods. The crimes committed by these individuals are completely preventable, but this administration has chosen to overlook public safety in favor of bringing in hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants. If Border Czar Harris were serious about stopping foreign gang activity in the U.S., she would secure the border and deport illegal immigrants. It’s really that simple,” stated America First Legal Executive Director Gene Hamilton.
In response to one of these policies, a coalition of Republican-led states, spearheaded by Texas, is now suing over a policy known as “parole in place.”
The lawsuit argues that this policy creates a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants, bypassing Congress, for “political purposes,” according to a report by Just The News.
“This measure encourages illegal immigration and will cause irreversible damage to the plaintiff states,” the lawsuit claims.
The program, launched on Monday, allows undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens to remain in the country and apply for a green card, with a potential path to citizenship.
“To qualify for the program, the spouse must have been living in the U.S. for at least ten years, possess no disqualifying criminal record, and have been married to a U.S. citizen by June 17,” the report outlined.
The administration, however, has vowed to defend the program, accusing Republicans of “political maneuvering” on immigration and failing to address the border crisis constructively.
“This lawsuit seeks to force U.S. citizens and their families—who have lived in the U.S. for over ten years—to continue living in the shadows,” a White House spokesperson responded.
