Gunshots Fired Outside Texas Church After Armed Individuals in 'White Clothes and Headgear' Spotted

Gunfire erupted outside a Texas church on Sunday when a church security team member fired shots in response to a perceived threat.
According to a Facebook post by the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were dispatched to the Church at the Epicenter around 10:30 a.m. following a call made to 911. The caller requested police assistance but disconnected the call shortly after.
"Upon law enforcement’s arrival, it was determined that shots had indeed been fired, all originating from a volunteer member of the church's safety team," the post stated.

The church safety team member reportedly informed police that "he encountered two suspicious males outside the church, one of whom appeared to be armed with a rifle."
The team member then "fired multiple shots, which prompted the two individuals to flee the scene in a white minivan," according to the post.
Authorities described the men as having dark skin and wearing "white clothes and headgear," KEYE-TV reported. They are considered armed and dangerous.
Burnet County Sheriff Calvin Boyd confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident, as per KXAN-TV.
“The [security] team member shot at the suspects, who then entered the vehicle and fled," Boyd said. "So far, there is no evidence of injuries, and the vehicle has not been located."

Kyle Byrd, the church leader, shared a message on Facebook, acknowledging the outpouring of support the church has received following the incident.
"Our hearts are deeply touched, our families are uplifted, and our commitment remains stronger than ever to fulfill the purpose God has for us in this region... a Kingdom Center for the Heart of Texas, supporting its churches, leaders, families, and all our beloved friends," he wrote.
"We give praise to the Lord, rejoicing even in the sharing of His sufferings. Let the Gospel of Christ, and Him crucified, resonate louder than the opposition, and may Jesus receive His full reward! Blessings to all!"
The sheriff’s office is collaborating with various agencies in their ongoing investigation.
In response to the incident, Lampasas police increased their patrols around local churches, KWTX-TV reported.
