Hollywood Actress Actually Leaves America, But Where She Moves to Speaks Volumes

If you’re searching for another example of just how out-of-touch and insular Hollywood can be, consider the actions of former Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria.

To her credit — and it’s a very minimal shred of it — the longtime actress actually followed through on her decision to leave the United States. This contrasts with the usual hollow threats Americans have come to expect from Hollywood elites.

Indeed, Longoria appears to have acted on her decision, as she recently shared in an interview with Marie Claire.

One of the most striking revelations in the interview?

Longoria, along with her husband and children, has moved her primary residence out of the U.S., splitting her time between Mexico and Spain.

In the interview, Longoria made it clear that the political climate, heavily influenced by President Donald Trump, played a significant role in her choice to relocate.

“The people who were screaming, ‘Build that wall,’ are the same people that are going to Taco Tuesday,” she stated to the magazine. “And I’m like, ‘No, no, no. You don’t get to margarita out and s*** on the culture that gave you the taco and gave you the margarita. You have to go, ‘This came from there. There must be good things.’”

Well, that’s certainly a perspective. What other insights does Ms. Longoria have to offer?

In a candid moment, Longoria admitted, “I’ve never been depressed in my life,” but that she struggled after Trump’s 2016 election win.

“I was so untethered to the core of what I believe because I truly believed in my soul that the best person wins. And then that happened, and I was like, ‘Oh, wait. The best person doesn’t win,’” she shared.

Fast-forward to 2024, and Longoria’s feelings seem just as strong.

“The shocking part is not that he won,” she remarked shortly after Nov. 5. “It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.”

(For context, Longoria is a fervent supporter of Kamala Harris, though she might not be her biggest fan given recent events.)

“If [Trump] keeps his promises, [America’s] going to be a scary place,” she added.

But Trump isn’t the only reason for her departure.

“Even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then Covid happened, and it pushed it over the edge,” Longoria said. “Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to s*** on California — it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”

Interestingly, she didn’t directly mention how the Democrat leadership contributed to the state of California. However, she did acknowledge her own advantage in being able to leave.

“I’m privileged,” she admitted. “I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”

Hold on a second. While America isn’t perfect, calling it “dystopian” — and partially blaming Trump — feels like quite the stretch.

How exactly does Eva Longoria feel entitled to lecture America about “dystopia,” especially when her chosen new homes have glaring issues of their own?

Take Mexico, for instance. This isn’t about illegal immigration, but consider the state of politics there. As reported by Reuters, the most recent Mexican election cycle saw 37 political candidates assassinated before a winner was declared.

Compare that to America, where, despite the uproar over Trump’s wins in 2016 and 2024, no major political figures faced credible assassination attempts.

And as for Spain? Let’s not even get started on Europe’s strict pandemic lockdowns. It’s best not to give the U.N. any ideas for handling future outbreaks.

So, farewell, Eva Longoria. Enjoy your non-dystopian havens, where cartels and globalist agendas seemingly hold more sway than the needs of their citizens.

Meanwhile, America — still the greatest country in the world — will be waiting if you ever realize what you left behind.
