Hungary Slams Biden’s Approval For Ukraine To Strike Russia With US Missiles

Hungary has issued a stark warning that allowing Ukraine to utilize long-range missiles supplied by the United States for strikes deep within Russian territory could escalate the conflict into a global crisis. The decision, announced by the White House on Monday, was sharply criticized by Hungary.

In a Facebook post, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó described the U.S. support for Ukraine as an “extremely dangerous” development that could intensify the ongoing crisis.

According to Szijjártó, the “pro-war forces” in the United States are ignoring the public's desire for peace, instead pushing for greater aggression.

“The pro-war mainstream has launched a final, desperate attack on the new reality,” Szijjártó stated, warning that such decisions could trigger a global conflict.

He also accused U.S. lawmakers of disregarding the growing demand for peace, labeling the move as “undemocratic.”

President Joe Biden’s authorization on Sunday allows Ukraine to use American long-range missiles to target deeper into Russian territory.

This development comes as a large contingent of Ukrainian forces reportedly operates within Russia’s Kursk region, following incursions in early August. U.S. publication Politico reports that these troops are expected to face a strong counteroffensive by North Korean and Russian forces.

Many analysts believe that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, who has criticized American military support for Ukraine, may reshape Washington’s stance on the conflict after his inauguration on November 5.

Nevertheless, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed optimism about Trump’s potential “peace through strength” strategy as a pathway to ending the war.

Despite repeated calls from Hungary for an early ceasefire, Zelenskyy dismissed their appeals as “nonsense.” Hungary has maintained its ties with Moscow throughout the conflict.

Szijjártó characterized the situation as “a tough battle,” emphasizing the urgent need to prevent further escalation.

Hungary remains one of the few European Union nations to retain close relations with Russia, even amid the ongoing war.

Donald Trump Jr., son of President-elect Trump, also weighed in, claiming that the Biden administration’s decision to support Ukraine’s use of long-range missiles was an attempt to provoke “World War III.”

Trump Jr. expressed his concerns after Biden’s approval of the controversial move, which comes just months before Trump’s return to the White House.

On X (formerly Twitter), Trump Jr. accused the “military-industrial complex” of fostering chaos in the conflict.

“The Military Industrial Complex seems to want to make sure they get World War 3 going before my father has a chance to create peace and save lives. Gotta lock in those $Trillions. Life be damned!!! Imbeciles!” he wrote.

Ending the war between Russia and Ukraine has been a central theme of Trump’s campaign. During his first presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump claimed he could bring an end to the conflict within 24 hours if elected.

Following his resounding victory over Harris in the elections, Trump held discussions with both Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“As President Trump has said on the campaign trail, he is the only person who can bring both sides together to negotiate peace, end the war, and stop the killing,” Trump’s communications director, Steven Cheung, told the New York Post.

Donald Trump Jr., who is deeply involved in his father’s political endeavors, is also reportedly playing a significant role in the transition process, including assisting in the selection of Cabinet members, according to the Post.
