J.D. Vance Rips CNN’s Dana Bash In Fiery Interview

Sen. J.D. Vance held his ground during a heated interview with CNN host Dana Bash on Sunday, where he did not shy away from expressing his opinions about Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“We’re running against policies that I believe have failed the American people,” said Vance, who is running alongside former President Donald Trump. “President Trump delivered lower prices, reduced inflation, a more prosperous and peaceful world, and a secure border. In contrast, Kamala Harris’s policies have had the opposite effect.”

As the interview continued, Bash questioned Vance about his characterization of the Democrats, particularly his use of the word “weird” to describe Walz’s behavior. Vance defended his language, pointing to an incident where Walz gave his wife a “nice firm Midwestern handshake” instead of a more affectionate gesture during his vice-presidential announcement, which Vance suggested reflected the Democrats’ discomfort with their own policies.

“So, what I see are two people, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, who aren’t comfortable in their own skin because they’re not comfortable with their policy positions for the American people,” Vance said. “And so, instead of explaining how they’re going to improve people’s lives, they resort to name-calling. I think that’s weird, Dana, but they can call me whatever they want,” he added, noting that his Democratic opponents have also labeled him as “weird.”

Vance also criticized Walz over his alleged exaggerations about his military service.

“He’s a veteran of a war, nodding along instead of clarifying, ‘No, no, no, I served honorably, but I never went to a war zone.’ I’m not questioning Tim Walz’s service,” Vance clarified. “I’m questioning the fact that he lied about his service for political gain, Dana. Now, I served in the United States Marine Corps, and you know this. And there are many things I’m proud of.”

Vance continued, “He knew he was going to Iraq. He decided to quit—to retire, whatever term you prefer—because he wanted to run for Congress. He lied about that. He claimed that when he decided to retire, he didn’t know he was going to Iraq. That’s another falsehood, as even his senior military officer confirmed.” He emphasized, “The truth is that Tim Walz didn’t tell the truth, and importantly, Dana, this is about Kamala Harris’s judgment.”

There has been concern among Republicans following the decision to replace President Joe Biden with Harris at the top of the Democratic ticket, but Vance suggests there is no reason to worry.

At a rally in Bozeman, Montana, Trump expressed confidence that Harris would be easier to defeat than Biden, as reported by The Washington Examiner.

“They took it away from him. They really did. They took it away—the guy had 14 million votes. She had none. But I’d rather run against her. I think she’s easier to beat, I really do,” Trump said.

Trump also took a jab at Harris’s name, humorously suggesting there are multiple ways to pronounce it.

“She’s got about nine different ways of pronouncing that name. And because the press is so dishonest, no matter how you say it, they’ll say you were wrong. You were wrong. I don’t care if I get it right. Actually, I couldn’t care less,” he quipped.

During the rally, Trump also played a supercut video of Harris outlining her far-left policy agenda in her own words.
