JD Vance Praises Addition Of RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard To Trump Ticket
Republican vice-presidential candidate and Ohio Senator JD Vance recently claimed that the Republican Party has become more diverse, thanks to support from former Democrats like Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard, both of whom have aligned with Vance and former President Donald Trump.
“The president just received endorsements from RFK and Tulsi Gabbard,” Vance stated, according to the BBC. “On top of that, he’s got backing from Nikki Haley and Brian Kemp. He truly is the president of common sense in this country. People are fed up with lies and chaos.”
Although Trump and RFK Jr. have their “personal disagreements,” Vance said, “both are mature enough to prioritize the country over personal interests.”
Vance also commented on the endorsement from Georgia Governor Brian Kemp [R], who had a tense relationship with Trump. Vance emphasized his role in helping to repair this rift, noting Kemp’s stance.
“I think everyone should recognize this – that Brian Kemp is stepping up to show we are a big-tent party, advocating for common sense and stability. We’ve got to get that irrational politician Kamala Harris out of the White House,” Vance remarked.
He also acknowledged differing opinions within the party, saying, “I won’t try to convince you to change your mind about the president, just as I won’t persuade him to change his mind about you. But you both agree on 90% of issues, so personal differences can be set aside.”
Recent election forecasts show Trump pulling ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 race. Well-known pollster Nate Silver released data indicating Trump has a strong lead, with 64.4% of the national estimate compared to Harris’s 35.3%. This surge solidifies Trump’s momentum as a top contender for the presidency.
Trump’s significant edge in swing states further emphasizes his strong position. In key battleground states, polls show Trump leading Harris, mirroring the intense competition seen in the 2020 election.
Here’s a look at the polling numbers:
– Pennsylvania: Trump 65% – Harris 35%
– Michigan: Trump 55% – Harris 45%
– Wisconsin: Trump 53% – Harris 47%
– Arizona: Trump 77% – Harris 23%
– North Carolina: Trump 76% – Harris 24%
– Georgia: Trump 69% – Harris 31%
– Nevada: Trump 61% – Harris 39%
Trump’s commanding lead in traditionally pivotal states like Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania could prove decisive in the 2024 election.
Several factors might explain Trump’s current advantage over Harris. His messaging on critical issues such as crime, border security, and inflation has resonated with a large voter base. Additionally, Trump maintains strong loyalty from Republicans and a firm grip on the GOP base. In contrast, Harris has struggled to galvanize Democratic voters with the same intensity.
Political betting markets are beginning to reflect this growing perception of Trump’s success. According to Polymarket, Trump’s odds of winning stand at 52%, while Harris is at 46%. Though these odds fluctuate, they highlight Trump’s strong positioning as the campaign progresses.
Meanwhile, respected pollster Frank Luntz expressed disappointment with Harris’s recent CNN interview, which was highly anticipated as her first since being officially named the Democratic presidential candidate. Luntz criticized Harris’s performance, saying, “I expected more from her with all this time to prepare,” before detailing what he saw as her missteps during the interview.
