Joe Biden Undercuts Kamala Harris as She Appears on 'The View'

President Joe Biden may have the upper hand after all.

In fact, if the aging president is fully aware of his recent actions — and the latest developments suggest he might be — his apparent undermining of Vice President Kamala Harris could become one of the most remarkable instances of political strategy in modern history.

On Tuesday morning, as Vice President Harris appeared on ABC's “The View” and with Hurricane Milton approaching western Florida, Biden held a press conference at the White House. During this briefing, he extended praise to Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis, who Harris had criticized for playing "political gamesmanship" just a day earlier.

DeSantis didn’t let Harris's comments slide.

In response, the Florida governor pointed out that Harris hadn’t reached out to him during previous storm-related emergencies, implying that her sudden outreach, now that she’s running for president, might be more about political gain than genuine concern.

Moreover, DeSantis highlighted that his communication with Biden had been smooth during their coordination for the current storm.

In essence, DeSantis commended Biden while rebuking Harris.

So, what was Biden’s reaction on Tuesday?

“The governor of Florida has been cooperative,” Biden stated to a crowd of reporters, in a clip shared on the social media platform X.

Had Biden wanted to avoid stirring up more headlines, he could have stopped there. But he didn’t.

“He said he’s gotten all that he needs. I talked to him again yesterday, and I said — ‘No, you’re doing a great job. It’s being all — being done well. We thank you for it.’ And I literally gave him my personal phone number to call,” Biden added.

Wow. Just wow.

Whether Biden’s remarks were intended to undermine Harris or not, his cordial exchange with DeSantis was hard to overlook in the broader political context.

Since July, when Democratic leaders effectively removed Biden from the nomination race in favor of Harris, the president has reportedly held some resentment toward those he holds responsible for his political challenges, including former President Barack Obama.

During last month’s presidential debate, former President Donald Trump made a notable claim to a nationwide audience, stating that Biden "hates" Harris.

“I’ll give you a little secret. He hates her. He can’t stand her,” Trump said, in a clip that was also shared on X.

Trump’s words seemed oddly predictive the following day when Biden was seen wearing a red hat typically associated with Trump supporters in a lighthearted moment.

However, there’s a significant difference between playfully wearing a Trump hat and actively undercutting Harris in her confrontation with DeSantis.

People on social media quickly picked up on this.

Clay Travis from Outkick even quoted Trump’s comments from the debate stage.

“Holy crap, Joe Biden just said Ron DeSantis has his direct number, is doing a great job on hurricane response, directly undercutting Kamala. Biden hates her. Not hiding it now,” Travis posted.

Other users echoed similar thoughts.

Additionally, Biden holding his press conference during Harris’s appearance on "The View" didn’t escape public attention.

In conclusion, while we can’t be certain that Biden deliberately sabotaged Harris, there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that if she expected unwavering loyalty from her boss, she may have misjudged the situation.

If that’s the case, this might be a rare instance where American patriots are cheering for the president.
