Kamala Just Received The Final Nail In Her Coffin – It’s OVER!
The ongoing debate surrounding Vice President Kamala Harris’s claim of a brief stint at McDonald’s escalated on Sunday, when the fast-food giant announced it had no records of her employment.
Harris has frequently mentioned that during her high school years, she worked as a cook at McDonald’s one summer to save money. The story has become a regular feature of her campaign, as she seeks to connect with everyday Americans. According to the company, one in eight Americans has worked for McDonald’s at some point, a statistic often highlighted.
Tim Walz, her running mate, referenced Harris’s “working class” background during the Democratic National Convention, using it to mock former President Donald Trump. Walz quipped, “He couldn’t run that damn McFlurry machine if it cost him anything,” as reported by ABC News.
In response, McDonald’s issued a statement noting that while Harris may have “fond memories” of her time at the restaurant, they could not locate any employment records.
This came two days after Trump refuted Walz’s comments by donning an apron and serving customers at a McDonald’s drive-thru. The company’s statement read, "Even though we are not a political brand, we are delighted to hear about Vice President Harris's fond memories of working under the Arches and former President Trump’s enthusiasm for McDonald’s.
Although we and our franchisees don’t keep records for every position dating back to the early 1980s, the shared experience of working here is what makes the ‘1 in 8’ so meaningful."
It remains unclear whether Harris or Walz will acknowledge the letter, which seemingly extends an open invitation for Harris to try working the takeout window or flipping burgers.
Meanwhile, Trump made a spectacle of his own when he visited a McDonald’s in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, joking, “I’ve now worked 15 minutes more than Kamala. I used to work at McDonald’s. She didn’t ever work here.” When a reporter asked Trump why he believed Harris might have fabricated her work history, he responded, "Because she’s lyin’ Kamala, that’s why."
Despite the controversy, Democrats continue to embrace the McDonald’s narrative. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff has also shared his own experiences working at the fast-food chain. “The framed photo you just saw, complete with a ring and golden arches, is still with me.
After that, I parked cars and served tables. I worked full-time to attend college part-time, and I got through law school with the help of student loans, partial scholarships, and a little help from my dad,” Emhoff recalled during a speech at the DNC. Former President Bill Clinton also added to the discussion during a visit to a McDonald’s in Georgia, though a moment of confusion occurred when a staff member mistook him for President Joe Biden.
