Kamala’s Husband Makes Head-Turning Comment About Biden
During a softball interview on Friday with “Good Morning America” co-host and former NFL star Michael Strahan, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff appeared to distance Vice President Kamala Harris from President Joe Biden's policies.
Strahan, interviewing Emhoff at a diner in his hometown of Matawan, N.J., hinted at the potential differences between a Harris administration and the current one, despite the administration being officially referred to as the “Biden-Harris administration” since shortly after taking office.
“So, for those who may criticize [Harris] and say, ‘Well, she hasn’t done that [in] her three-and-a-half years in office as vice president.’ Do you think that’s unfair?” Strahan asked.
“Yeah, she’s the vice president, not the president,” Emhoff responded. “The vice president is there as part of the administration, not leading the administration. So, as president, she’s gonna be able to put forth her policies and plans and effectuate those.”
However, Strahan did not press Emhoff on specifics regarding how Harris’ policies would differ from Biden's or which ones she would continue or change if she became president.
Notably, Harris has previously claimed that she was "the last person in the room" with Biden when the decision was made to hastily withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan. That decision led to a chaotic situation, including the deaths of 13 U.S. service members and approximately 150 Afghans due to a suicide bomber near the Kabul airport in the days leading up to the final U.S. departure.
Additionally, within a few months of taking office, Biden appointed Harris as “border czar” to manage immigration issues. Since then, illegal immigration and fentanyl imports have surged to record levels. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that in the 12 months ending June 2023, 112,323 Americans died from drug overdoses, with fentanyl accounting for 70 percent of those fatalities.
Last week, retired San Diego Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke testified during a congressional hearing, revealing that the Biden-Harris administration directed him not to disclose the arrests of illegal border crossers who were classified as “Significant Interest Aliens” (SIAs) due to their ties to terrorism.
Heitke testified before the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security, stating that the administration’s "open border policies have undermined our safety and security."
He explained that one of the primary deterrents against illegal immigration is deportation, but under the current administration, there has been a significant decrease in the number of countries willing to take their citizens back, a phenomenon Heitke had not seen in his 25 years with five different administrations. He added that this issue, coupled with a reduction in available detention space, has led to more illegal immigrants being released into the U.S.
“The fact that so many illegal aliens are being released into the United States spread worldwide very quickly,” Heitke said. As this happened, the number of border crossings surged, and Border Patrol agents were overwhelmed with processing detainees rather than preventing further illegal crossings.
“We have no idea who and what entered our country over this time throughout 2022 and 23,” Heitke said, emphasizing that his agents lacked the resources to track all the illegal entries.
In the San Diego sector, Heitke reported a significant rise in SIAs, noting that before the Biden-Harris administration, the sector averaged 10 to 15 SIAs per year. Under the current administration, however, that number increased exponentially .
