Kamala's Husband Slips And Drops Big Bomb About His Awful Wife
Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff revealed that when his wife, Kamala Harris, learned of President Biden’s decision to suspend his candidacy, she reacted strongly, swearing at him and telling him to “get back to work.”
During a recent interview with ESPN radio personality Dan Le Batard, Emhoff shared that he was in a spin class on July 21, long after the Democratic primary had ended, when Biden made the historic announcement to step aside. Shortly after, Biden endorsed Vice President Harris in a follow-up post, having initially chosen not to do so.
Reportedly, key figures in the Democratic Party, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), along with a few other party leaders, backed former President Barack Obama's push for an open primary, prompting Biden's decision.
On Tuesday, Le Batard questioned Emhoff about the surprising announcement, which came just weeks after Biden’s underwhelming debate performance in June. The broadcaster, known for his left-leaning views, asked, “You were busy in spin class, right?”
Emhoff responded, “I was, right. So I was in L.A. It was during that weekend when all the planes were down because of the software glitch. So I had to stay an extra day in L.A. I decided to go to a cycling class with some friends,” he elaborated.
“I didn’t have my phone on me—it was in the Secret Service car. Then my friend’s partner showed me his phone with the letter from President Biden, and I’m like, ‘gotta go,’ and ran to the car. When I got there, my phone was blowing up—seven or eight messages all saying, you know, ‘where are you, call Kamala, call Kamala,’” he said.
Emhoff said his conversation with Harris was brief when he finally got in touch with her.
Since his wife effectively became the Democratic Party’s nominee, Emhoff has been grappling with various issues linked to one another. The Daily Mail first reported that Emhoff allegedly had an affair with the nanny of the child he shares with his ex-wife. Emhoff later addressed the rumors, saying he had worked to “move past” the matter.
When asked for a comment on the allegations, the nanny, Najen Naylor, didn’t deny the affair, according to the Daily Mail. Naylor, who not only worked as the family’s nanny but also taught at the school Emhoff’s child attended, was central to the claims.
A "close friend with knowledge of the pregnancy" noted that Naylor did not raise the child herself.
After the affair came to light, Emhoff and his then-wife Kerstin divorced in 2009. Sources close to the situation told the Daily Mail that Naylor resigned from her teaching position at The Willows, a prestigious private school in Culver City, California. In addition to her role as the family nanny, Naylor had been teaching Emhoff’s child.
Separate allegations reported by the Daily Mail accused Emhoff of physically assaulting an ex-girlfriend in a public setting. A spokesperson for Emhoff refuted the claims, stating, “Any suggestion that he would or has ever hit a woman is false.”
