King Charles Finally Cuts Off Spoiled Prince

A recent report suggests that King Charles of Great Britain is taking a firm stance with his brother, Prince Andrew, over the prince's residence situation.

Prince Andrew currently resides at Royal Lodge, a 30-room mansion in Windsor. King Charles wants him to relocate to Frogmore Cottage, a smaller five-bedroom home on the Windsor Castle grounds, previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

According to excerpts from a biography on King Charles by Robert Hardman, featured in the Daily Mail, Charles has taken steps to make it harder for Andrew to remain at Royal Lodge. The king has reportedly cut Andrew’s personal allowance, which was around £1 million per year, and has also decided not to cover the cost of Andrew's private security.

A source quoted in the book noted, “The duke is no longer a financial burden on the King.” Andrew’s connections to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and his subsequent settlement with an Epstein victim led to his removal from official royal duties during Queen Elizabeth's reign.

An excerpt published by the Daily Mail reveals that the queen had been prepared to evict Andrew. A former adviser to Queen Elizabeth stated, "Had she lived another year, he would have been out.” The plan had been to end the Sussexes' lease at Frogmore Cottage and relocate Andrew there due to financial concerns, as maintaining Royal Lodge was becoming unsustainable.

However, the Mail also reports that Andrew believes he holds a “cast-iron, long-term lease” on the Windsor estate. He has resisted moving, despite apparent deterioration at Royal Lodge, with visible cracks, peeling paint, and black mold, as the New York Post reports.

Now, with the king's financial support withdrawn, Andrew faces the task of funding both property maintenance and his security expenses without any clear source of independent income. The Mail suggests that Andrew has claimed he can find “other sources of income” to cover his expenses, though his brother Charles will be monitoring his progress closely.

"If he can find the money, then that is up to him, but if not, he will find that the King does not have unlimited patience," an unnamed insider stated in the book.

Royal commentator Christopher Wilson has noted that Andrew’s resistance is worsening the situation. “It’s dishonoring [the Queen Mother’s] memory,” Wilson said. Referring to a British gesture of defiance, he added, “It’s shoving up two fingers at King Charles.”

Wilson further commented on Andrew’s current state, observing that “the state of his mind is reflected in the state of his home,” adding, “It is falling all around him. He doesn’t care anymore.”
