Lara Trump Reveals How She Upset Her Father-in-Law After Replacement Chatter: Report

Is President-elect Donald Trump laying the foundation for a political dynasty within his own family?

At least one family member, besides Trump himself, has caught his eye as a potential political player: his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump.

However, there’s one small hitch — Lara doesn’t seem particularly keen on what’s reportedly being offered, even if it’s something Donald strongly desires.

Lara, married to Eric Trump, shared some insights with the U.K. Daily Mail about the Trump family’s political dynamics, including the buzz around her name as a possible contender for Marco Rubio’s Florida Senate seat.

Rubio, Trump’s nominee for Secretary of State, is expected to leave his Florida Senate seat vacant in the near future.

Rumors of Lara Trump stepping into the position quickly gained traction. But it soon became evident that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would be making his own decision on who fills Rubio’s seat—and that Lara wasn’t particularly eager to take on the role "right now."

“[Trump] was a little upset whenever I said that, you know, ‘I’m not gonna do it right now,’” Lara told the outlet.

She went on to reveal that the president-elect wasn’t keen on anyone else stepping into the role either.

“The only person that Donald Trump wanted to see there was probably me,” she said.

While Lara stopped short of confirming whether a political career could be in her future, she assured the MAGA movement that she wasn’t going anywhere.

“You’ll be seeing more of me, not less of me,” she told the Daily Mail.

Then, with a hint of humor, she added, “For some people, that’s a great thing. Some people might not like that.”

When asked who she thought might ultimately take the Senate seat, Lara expressed confidence in DeSantis’s decision-making abilities.

“I would say, as far as Governor Ron DeSantis is concerned, I believe he will choose a great person,” she said. “And I think the amazing thing is, he has really great names in terms of people who could potentially fill that seat.”

Lara also praised DeSantis, stating, “He’s run this state very successfully,” and adding that his political “instinct” would likely guide him to select the right candidate.

Even without a Senate seat, Lara Trump’s schedule is anything but dull. The Daily Mail describes her as a rising talent in both the fashion and music industries.

And, of course, she’ll be front and center on January 20th, the day her father-in-law is inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States.
