Las Vegas Authorities Release New Info On Alleged Bomber At Trump Tower
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) held a striking press conference on Friday, unveiling significant updates in the probe into this week’s explosion at the Trump Hotel Las Vegas.
Investigators shared fragments of text messages and notes retrieved from devices belonging to the suspect, Matthew Livelsberger.
Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren spoke at the event, shedding light on a disturbing manifesto left behind by Livelsberger.
The writings painted a grim picture of political dissatisfaction and personal turmoil, portraying Livelsberger as deeply embittered by what he referred to as America’s “terminal illness” under “weak and ineffectual leadership.”
One of the recovered notes included an impassioned call to action:
“Fellow service members, veterans, and all Americans, TIME TO WAKE UP! We are being led by weak and feckless leadership who only serve to enrich themselves.”
His grievances touched on corruption, societal decline, and his own inner struggles. However, another excerpt released by authorities carried an even darker tone, potentially serving as a forewarning:
“We are the United States of America, the best country and people to ever exist. But right now, we are terminally ill and headed towards collapse. This was not a terrorist attack; it is a wake-up call. Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives? Why did I personally do it now? I need to cleanse my mind of the brothers I’ve lost and relieve myself of the burden of the lives I took.”
Koren provided additional details during the conference.
“I’d like to just also expand on that and emphasize that these are just excerpts. In there, he does offer additional information that varies on the spectrum in terms of political grievances, issues about the conflicts elsewhere—not here—domestic issues, societal issues, and a variety of other things, including personal challenges,” Koren explained.
He continued: “We are intending to release those initial letters so people can understand, as best they can, what the person’s thought process was at one point in time. However, please understand there is still a lot more content to go through, and that may change. There may be a lot more information that we recover that either explains more or shows a change in mindset at different times.”
Koren also noted, “We still have a large volume of data to go through and a lot of content to go through. As you know, with any one of our devices, there’s thousands, if not millions, of videos, photos, documents, web history, and all of those things that need to be analyzed.”
Other writings by Livelsberger echoed similar themes:
“We are crumbling because of a lack of self respect, morales, and respect for others. Greed and gluttony has consumed us. The top 1% decided long ago they weren’t going to bring everyone else with them. You are cattle to them.”
He lamented societal decay, stating:
“We have strayed from family values and corrupted our minds and I am a prime example of having it all but it never being enough.”
Livelsberger expressed frustration with modern lifestyles:
“A lot of us are just sitting around waiting to die. No sunlight, no steps, no fresh air, no hope. Our children are addicted to screens by the age of two. We are filling our bodies with processed foods.”
He also raised concerns about national security:
“Our population is too fat to join the military yet we are facing a war with China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran before 2030.”
Among the actions Livelsberger proposed were:
- Ending the war in Ukraine through negotiation, as “it is the only way.”
- Emphasizing strength and leadership, asserting that “Masculinity is good and men must be leaders. Strength is a deterrent and fear is the product.”
- Removing government and military officials who fail to embody these ideals.
He also criticized income inequality and homelessness, writing, “The income inequality in this country and cost-of-living is outrageous. The number of homeless on our street is embarrassing and disgusting. Have some pride and take care of this.”
Livelsberger’s writings dismissed diversity initiatives as harmful, declaring, “Stop obsessing over diversity. We are all diverse and DEI is a cancer.”
He concluded by voicing disdain for current leadership:
“Thankfully we rejected the DEI candidate and will have a real President instead of Weekend at Bernie’s. We must move on from the culture of weakness and self enrichment perpetuated by our senior political and military leaders. We are done with the blatant corruption. Our soldiers are done fighting wars without end states or clear objectives.”
