Leading Dem Ripped As ‘Joke’ During Hearing For Attacking Musk

Serial entrepreneur and author Magatte Wade took aim at Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and other Democrats, accusing them of making it "clear" during a congressional hearing that they are "not working for the American people."

Wade, who testified before Congress on February 11 as a Judiciary hearing witness, gained widespread attention for pushing back against Raskin’s remarks concerning Elon Musk and his DOGE initiative.

“Do we really need to hire a fourth branch of government called Elon Musk to go out and do it for us?” Raskin questioned the room on Tuesday, referring to Musk and his DOGE team as “mutant teenage racist computer hackers.”

Without offering supporting evidence, Raskin further alleged that Musk and his team had taken control of financial payment systems within the U.S. Department of Treasury and had unauthorized access to private financial records of American citizens.

In response, Wade criticized Rep. Raskin in Congress for “complaining” about Musk while questioning lawmakers’ true “endgame” in attacking DOGE’s efforts.

“What is the endgame? Isn’t the endgame to make us, the American people, better off? Isn’t it?” Wade asked, emphasizing that congressional leaders should focus on assisting Americans rather than targeting Musk.

“Keep your eye on the ball. And your ball should be me,” she asserted during the hearing. “How do we make me better off?”

Later, in an interview with Fox News’ Will Cain, Wade characterized the Democrats’ behavior during the hearing as a “joke.”

The entrepreneur, originally from Africa and the founder of businesses in both Senegal and Silicon Valley, underscored the dangers of excessive government regulation, a key topic discussed during the hearing.

“We’re talking about probably the most important thing in America right now,” she stated. Wade explained that she has seen firsthand how overregulation stifles individuals and small businesses in her home country.

“It means the difference between life and death, war or peace, being free or enslaved. And in the end, if we’re talking about human dignity here,” she told Cain.

Wade remarked that as she listened to Raskin and other members of Congress, she realized they were not only “ignoring you” but actively “nagging you.”

“And then you wonder to yourself, wait? Are you not working for us? Have you been put in this position by us? Are you not reporting to us? So the whole thing seemed upside down,” she said.

She left the hearing deeply troubled by what she perceived as a disconnect between lawmakers and the American people, stating that Raskin was “clearly” not prioritizing the nation’s best interests.

“I don’t know who he’s working for, but it’s not for us,” she concluded.

WATCH:

Raskin is just the latest Democrat to face backlash for criticizing Musk’s efforts to cut excessive government spending. For years, Congress has failed to balance the budget, packing spending bills with unnecessary pet projects, leading to a national debt nearing $37 trillion.

Meanwhile, Democrat-aligned organizations have also opposed Musk, whom President Donald Trump tasked with identifying wasteful expenditures across the federal government. Left-wing groups have resorted to legal action to obstruct Musk’s initiatives, though not all their efforts have succeeded.

A federal judge on Friday indefinitely delayed a final ruling on a request by labor unions seeking to block Musk’s government efficiency team from accessing internal system data. The judge, U.S. District Judge John Bates, a George W. Bush appointee, stated, “You will hear from me,” but did not specify a timeline for his decision.

This development comes just a week after Bates denied an earlier attempt by unions representing Labor Department employees to obtain a temporary restraining order preventing DOGE from accessing internal data. The judge ruled that the plaintiffs lacked standing and failed to show potential harm.

In response, the unions expanded their lawsuit, amending their complaint to include the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, as reported by Fox News.
