Liz Cheney Could Face Issues After Biden’s Autopen Use: Report
Former President Donald Trump has been vocal following revelations that Joe Biden, during his presidency, used an autopen to sign multiple executive orders and pardons.
Given Biden’s cognitive decline in the final year of his administration, Trump has raised concerns about the legitimacy of these signatures.
“The ‘Pardons’ that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen. In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them! The necessary Pardoning Documents were not explained to, or approved by, Biden. He knew nothing about them, and the people that did may have committed a crime,” Trump stated on Truth Social.
He continued, “Therefore, those on the Unselect Committee, who destroyed and deleted ALL evidence obtained during their two year Witch Hunt of me, and many other innocent people, should fully understand that they are subject to investigation at the highest level. The fact is, they were probably responsible for the Documents that were signed on their behalf without the knowledge or consent of the Worst President in the History of our Country, Crooked Joe Biden!”
As noted by Townhall’s Katie Pavlich, “No word yet from those who Biden pardoned, like Liz Cheney, Hunter Biden, Dr. Fauci, General Mark Milley and others, about whether the pardons will stand up in court.”
Last week, President Trump took further action by revoking security clearances for several high-ranking former officials, arguing that it was essential for national security. Previously, he had also stripped his predecessor, Joe Biden, of his security clearance.
The White House released an official memorandum detailing the directive:
“I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information: Antony Blinken, Jacob Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Andrew Weissmann, Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Cheney, Kamala Harris, Adam Kinzinger, Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and any other member of Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s family. Therefore, I hereby direct every executive department and agency head to take all additional action as necessary and consistent with existing law to revoke any active security clearances held by the aforementioned individuals and to immediately rescind their access to classified information. I also direct all executive department and agency heads to revoke unescorted access to secure United States Government facilities from these individuals,” the president announced.
“This action includes, but is not limited to, receipt of classified briefings, such as the President’s Daily Brief, and access to classified information held by any member of the Intelligence Community by virtue of the named individuals’ previous tenure in the Congress,” he stated.
“In the event that any of the named individuals received a security clearance by virtue of their employment with a private entity, the United States Government entity that granted the security clearance should inform the private entity that these individuals’ ability to access classified information has been revoked,” Trump added.
In a February post on Truth Social, the president declared he was halting daily intelligence briefings for Biden, citing concerns over the former president’s mental state as a potential security threat. Alongside this move, he also officially revoked Biden’s security clearance.
“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” Trump wrote. He pointed out that Biden had taken similar action against him upon assuming office.
“He set this precedent in 2021, when he instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents,” Trump stated.
Referencing Special Counsel Robert Hur’s findings, Trump noted Biden’s struggles with memory and how that posed a concern for handling classified intelligence.
“The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information. I will always protect our National Security — JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he added.
Hur had previously testified in March, stating that his investigation uncovered evidence suggesting Biden’s decision to retain classified documents may have been driven by “pride and money.” Despite these findings, criminal charges were not recommended against the former president, as reported by Fox News.
