Liz Cheney Trashes Ted Cruz In Interview With His Dem Opponent

Former U.S. Representative Liz Cheney further cemented her reputation as a “RINO” — Republican In Name Only — during an interview with Sen. Ted Cruz’s Democratic challenger, where she called the Texas Republican, a staunch ally of Donald Trump, untrustworthy.

Cheney, who lost in Wyoming’s 2022 GOP primary to Rep. Harriet Hageman after opposing Trump, appeared with Rep. Colin Allred (D-Texas) on WFAA, a local Dallas ABC affiliate, on Monday to criticize the incumbent Cruz.

In the interview, Cheney and Allred spoke about their time in the House, claiming that Cruz’s and Trump’s actions, particularly their challenges to last-minute voting changes before the 2020 election, were attempts to “overturn the results.”

Cheney stated, “The choice for the people of Texas is a clear one. When there’s a candidate like Colin, who is competent and of high character, it’s crucial to support him.”

Cheney has also expressed her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, despite opposing her socialist policies.

“You can’t trust Ted Cruz. He’ll say whatever serves his political ambitions,” Cheney said, in a pointed tone. “But I’ve worked with Colin. Though we disagreed on many issues, I know he genuinely puts the interests of Texans first.”

Allred, a former NFL player, added that he wanted “principled” conservatives to join him and Cheney in his campaign, though he didn’t specify what that entailed. “I want principled conservatives to know they are welcome in our coalition. I’ll represent them as well,” he said.

Despite these remarks, Cruz remains favored in the race, according to most polls.

Former U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) also weighed in on Kamala Harris after the Vice President received endorsements from Liz and former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Dick Cheney, a key figure behind the Iraq War, publicly announced his support for Harris, declaring that he would vote for her in November. In his endorsement, he reiterated his criticism of Trump, labeling him as the “greatest threat” America has faced and falsely accusing him of inciting violence on January 6, despite Trump urging protesters to remain peaceful.

At an event in Colorado with media personality Tucker Carlson, Gabbard shared her thoughts: “I have a simple message for my Democrat and Independent friends who are unsure about this election. Dick Cheney’s endorsement has made the choice clear.”

“A vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for Dick Cheney, the architect of much of what has gone wrong in the Middle East for decades,” Gabbard said.

Referring to media reports downplaying Harris’s policies, Gabbard continued, “We may not hear much about what kind of president she’ll be, even though she’s been working alongside Biden for years, often being the last voice in the room for big decisions.”

Turning to Cheney’s endorsement of Harris, Gabbard remarked, “Her response to Dick Cheney’s endorsement was that she felt honored. As a military veteran who served in the Middle East, that statement deeply upset me,” Gabbard concluded.
