Look: Vogue Magazine Unveils 'Candidate for Our Times' Cover of Kamala, Promptly Gets Eviscerated

The media’s portrayal of Vice President Kamala Harris has reached surreal levels of manipulation.

Thankfully, with Elon Musk’s acquisition of the social media platform X, Americans who have become aware of the political reality they live under can now discover, share, criticize, and mock the establishment's "1984"-style propaganda in real time.

On Friday, X saw the release of Vogue Magazine's new cover featuring Harris, accompanied by the headline “The Candidate for Our Times.” The post sparked a flood of overwhelmingly negative responses.

Vogue stated, “Only rarely are individuals summoned for acts of national rescue, but in July, Vice President @KamalaHarris received one of those calls.” The magazine continued with, “With President Joe Biden’s decision to end his reelection campaign, the world looked to Harris with hopes and doubts.”

The candidate for our times? National rescue? It’s hard to imagine even CNN would go to such shameless lengths of advocacy.

The implication that Harris, a politician widely criticized for her performance, represents "our times," or that she’s been called to "rescue" a nation over which she’s served as vice president for nearly four years, is a prime example of gaslighting.

X users were quick to catch the propaganda and respond with ridicule.

One user pointed out that when Harris ran for president in 2020, Democrat voters rejected her. However, after Biden was supposedly pushed out by party elites in July, the establishment media began promoting Harris. According to the user, Democrat voters followed along "like mask-wearing sheep."

Another X user criticized Vogue’s credibility, saying, “Vogue has just Disneyed itself into irrelevance.”

A third commenter dismissed the notion of a "rescue" by pointing out that Harris has been fully supportive of everything Biden has done.

Many others took aim at Harris for her inconsistent accents and frequent use of confusing, empty statements.

Harris, after all, is closely tied to major failures of the Biden administration, such as the border crisis and the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal in 2021.

Her inability to speak clearly or answer simple questions has also been a source of national embarrassment.

That Vogue would paint her as an exemplar or a "savior" is laughable, and should be a cause of shame — or perhaps even bankruptcy — for the magazine.

However, it’s reassuring to see that many Americans are well aware of the gaslighting attempts in the media.
