Major Drama Unfolds As Prince Harry Lands In UK For First Time

It appears that King Charles chose not to meet with his estranged son, Prince Harry, during the latter's recent visit to his native country, marking another significant rift within the royal family.

Reports suggest that the king was too preoccupied to make time for his son, who was in the UK to attend the Invictus Games, a sports tournament for injured veterans founded by Harry.

Since stepping back from his royal duties in 2020 and relocating to the United States with his wife, Meghan Markle, Harry has become increasingly distanced from Buckingham Palace. In media interviews and their candid biography, the couple has been openly critical of the royal family.

The highly publicized split, dubbed "Megxit," continues to keep the royal family under scrutiny, particularly as King Charles battles cancer.

Despite Harry's visit to England this week, it seems his father's schedule did not permit a meeting between them. A spokesperson for Harry released a statement acknowledging the scheduling conflicts, expressing Harry's understanding of his father's commitments, and expressing hope for a future meeting.

Another apparent snub occurred when Prince William, the eldest son and heir to the throne, was appointed commander of the British Army Air Corps during a ceremony as part of the King's agenda. This was the same military unit that Harry had previously served in.

According to reports, Harry would have received the honor if he had not stepped down from his royal duties. The palace announced that King Charles would assume the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps from King Charles.

Royal analyst Tom Quinn suggested that Harry was deeply affected by these perceived rejections, describing him as being "in tears." Quinn emphasized that the royal family is sending a clear message that Harry is not suited for their world and highlighted the loss of privileges and honors that comes with stepping away from royal duties.

Despite the proximity of Prince Harry's appearance at St. Paul's Cathedral to commemorate the Invictus Games to Buckingham Palace, where a garden party was being held as part of the King's engagements, Harry chose not to wear the medal awarded to him by his father during his coronation, which some interpret as a form of retaliation against the King.
