Major Guest Appears at Barron's Graduation - Trump's Role No Longer in Doubt

Former President Donald Trump attended his 18-year-old son Barron's graduation ceremony on Friday in West Palm Beach, Florida.

There had been weeks of speculation that Trump might miss the event due to the uncertainty surrounding the judge’s decision in his New York City “hush money” trial regarding a one-day recess. Judge Juan Merchan had delayed the decision, leaving Trump's attendance in question.

Ultimately, it worked out in Trump's favor. He and former first lady Melania Trump were present at the graduation ceremony.

A video on the social media platform X showed Trump’s motorcade arriving at the Oxbridge Academy campus:

Images that went viral on the platform showed Donald and Melania proudly watching as Barron began the next chapter of his life.

Standing at 6-foot-7, Barron towered over those around him as he walked on stage to receive his diploma.

Trump’s appearance in South Florida on Friday quelled speculation about whether his controversial prosecution on alleged business crimes in New York would cause him to miss this pivotal moment in Barron’s life.

Judge Juan Merchan, who is overseeing the trial, had been noncommittal for some time about allowing Trump to attend the graduation. Last month, Trump criticized Merchan and the trial when the judge deferred his decision on a court recess.

“I was looking forward to that graduation with his mother and father there, and it looks like the judge does not allow me to escape this scam,” Trump said in the courthouse hallway in Manhattan, the New York Post reported.

Merchan had commented about the recess, saying, “It really depends on if we are on time and where we are in the trial.”

Regarding Barron’s future, Trump mentioned at a recent Mar-a-Lago event that his son was still deciding on a college for the fall.

The University of Pennsylvania and New York University are reportedly among the top choices for Barron.
