Marjorie Taylor Greene to Lead New Government Efficiency Subcommittee

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is launching a new subcommittee to work alongside the recently established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Led by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, DOGE aims to tackle government waste, according to a report from Fox News Digital.

A source revealed that Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) will chair the Delivering on Government Efficiency Subcommittee. This group will prioritize uncovering and addressing waste, fraud, and abuse within federal operations.

The subcommittee’s agenda includes investigating excessive government spending, streamlining federal agency operations, and developing strategies to reduce bureaucratic inefficiencies.

Ramaswamy Confirms Collaboration

James Comer recently held discussions with Vivek Ramaswamy and his incoming DOGE team, as confirmed by a Fox News Digital source. Ramaswamy acknowledged the meeting, stating:

“A key step to driving greater efficiency in government is exposing the problem to the public—we are grateful that the House Oversight Committee has created a subcommittee to focus on this work,” said a spokesperson for Ramaswamy, a 2024 GOP presidential candidate. “We look forward to working together.”

The source also noted that Ramaswamy supports the committee’s objectives and is already collaborating with its members.

Alignment with Trump Administration Priorities

Comer highlighted the initiative’s alignment with President-elect Donald Trump’s agenda, noting that Trump’s “landslide victory reflects a clear mandate to address inflationary spending that’s driving up the cost of living for hardworking Americans.”

“Wasteful government spending must end, and taxpayers deserve to see their money used effectively and efficiently,” Comer emphasized.

Comer added that the Subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency will help fulfill the Trump administration’s goals of cutting red tape, eliminating waste, and optimizing federal operations.

“I look forward to working with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Elon Musk, and Vivek Ramaswamy to deliver on these goals to Make America Great Again,” Comer stated.

Greene Vows Accountability

On social media platform X, Taylor Greene shared her enthusiasm for the initiative, alongside a photo with Comer and conservative podcaster Benny Johnson. Greene wrote:

“I come from a business background and have successfully run a construction company my entire adult life. In the private sector, if you’re not doing a good job, you get fired. But for some reason, in government, bad employees—whether they’re failing to do the job they were hired to do or working in roles that are no longer needed—never get fired. This is incredibly unfair to the hard-working taxpayers of our country, and it’s about to change. I can’t wait to get to work!!”

In a statement to Fox News, Greene described the House Oversight Committee as an ideal partner for the DOGE mission.

“I’m excited to chair this new subcommittee designed to work hand in hand with President Trump, Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, and the entire DOGE team,” Greene said. “We will identify and investigate the waste, corruption, and absolutely useless parts of our federal government.”

She emphasized the subcommittee’s commitment to transparency:

“No topic will be off the table. The goal of DOGE is to bring accountability and GUT useless government agencies.”

Greene also outlined plans to expose inefficiencies and push for personnel changes.

“The bureaucrats who don’t do their job, fail audits like in the Pentagon, and don’t know where billions of dollars are going, will be getting a pink slip,” Greene asserted. “Chairman Comer and I are focused on delivering the mandate voters sent on Nov. 5th, and I can’t wait to get to work.”
