Media Experts Predict Where KJP Will End Up After Leaving White House
As President Biden’s time in office winds down, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is preparing to step down from her role. Media commentators recently shared their insights with the Daily Caller on what might be next for her career.
Despite significant criticism of her tenure, the prevailing view is that Jean-Pierre may transition into a cable news contributor role, much like her predecessor, Jen Psaki, who joined MSNBC after leaving the White House.
“She’ll go where all the other failed Hollywood actors go when they’re useless to the deep state: a cable chat show that exclusively exists to sell weird books and products to lonely women,” said Kay Hill, a Daily Caller alum and media industry veteran.
Curtis Houck, managing editor of NewsBusters, echoed this sentiment. “I fully anticipate someone will hire her as a contributor, whether it be a return to MSNBC or even CNN,” Houck noted.
Psaki, who served as press secretary during Barack Obama’s administration and later in Biden’s term, left the White House in 2022 to host Inside with Jen Psaki on MSNBC.
However, Houck criticized Jean-Pierre’s qualifications for such a role. “In a merit-based world, Karine Jean-Pierre would be unemployable in TV news,” he told the Caller. “It’s still remarkable to me that she spent years as an established cable news pundit and sitting for lengthy segments where guests would have to think on their feet and go beyond talking points.”
Others suggested Jean-Pierre’s controversial reputation could ironically make her an ideal candidate for a position on a left-leaning network.
“KJP was so dumb, so dishonest, and so bad at her job that I can only assume she’ll have a show on CBS News next year,” commented Mollie Hemingway, a best-selling author and editor-in-chief of The Federalist.
Emily Jashinsky, a correspondent for UnHerd and co-host of Breaking Points, pointed out that Jean-Pierre may face unique challenges compared to her predecessors.
“The Biden brand is bad, even on the left right now. It may be difficult for people like KJP to get jobs as prominent as Jen Psaki’s at MSNBC, given that Psaki departed before the wheels really started to fall off the administration,” Jashinsky remarked.
Jashinsky’s assessment aligns with broader concerns about Jean-Pierre’s perceived lack of credibility.
“Where do you go to wash off the catastrophic amount of lying she did to the American people about Biden’s condition?” asked Scott Jennings, a prominent conservative commentator on CNN and a new LA Times editorial board member.
Jennings added, “She’s at the center of the biggest scandal going in American politics.”
Throughout her tenure, Jean-Pierre consistently defended President Biden’s mental acuity, despite growing public skepticism.
In June, she dismissed footage of Biden appearing disoriented at the G7 Summit as “cheap fakes,” accusing media outlets of manipulating the videos. Over the summer, she maintained that Biden was “sharp as ever,” even as criticism mounted following his debated performance, which ultimately led to his withdrawal from the 2024 race.
More recently, Jean-Pierre was accused of misrepresenting the situation surrounding Hunter Biden’s pardon. On multiple occasions, she assured reporters that President Biden had no intention of pardoning his son. “We’ve been asked that question multiple times, [and] our answer stands, which is no,” she stated in November.
As speculation grows about Jean-Pierre’s next move, her contentious tenure leaves questions about her future in the media or politics.
