Megyn Kelly Criticizes Kamala Harris’ Performance at CNN Town Hall

Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly strongly criticized Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and her team, expressing her view that former President Donald Trump would likely outperform her.

Now hosting her own show on Sirius XM, Kelly said that Harris’s responses during the CNN Town Hall lacked depth, asserting that her team could not effectively “train” her to provide meaningful answers.

“At first, she managed okay, but I couldn’t help noticing how much she just kept deflecting instead of directly answering. I mean, he’s asking her straight up, ‘You can’t do both — you can’t push for legislation on illegal immigration and also issue an executive order.’ And yet, there was no response,” Kelly, host of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” stated. “… It seems they may have enhanced Kamala Harris’s delivery, at least in an event like this. But they didn’t tackle the actual content. They simply aren’t able to train or educate her on real substance, on the genuine issues America faces and potential policy solutions.”

“The key challenges that we need a president to address are about policies — it’s all about policies. We don’t care how well they sugarcoat it if inflation is at 11%. It’s irrelevant to us whether their tone is grating or soothing. We want inflation reduced. It doesn’t matter if she has some fresh talking point on immigration. What we need is a sincere response on why nothing was done about it for over three years. Something we could actually see as credible and convincing. But they focused on appearances and neglected what truly matters,” Kelly commented.

Kelly then played a clip from the 1982 horror movie “Poltergeist,” drawing a parallel to how Harris’s team focused on her outward presentation.

“Can someone coach her? Teach her! Just give her a solid answer on why immigration wasn’t dealt with for three and a half years — someone, please! I don’t know if it’s the team or her. From what I understand, it’s a very capable team. I know David Plouffe, he’s highly competent. He’s been on my show for over a decade,” she continued. “I don’t know what’s going wrong, but cosmetic fixes won’t cut it, and it’s reflecting in the poll numbers we discussed earlier.”

CNN’s Dana Bash noted that undecided voters who attended the town hall felt Harris didn’t “close the deal,” agreeing that the Democratic candidate didn’t sufficiently address “her legislative priorities.”

At a Pennsylvania town hall in a key swing state, Harris responded to questions about the economy and immigration from CNN’s Anderson Cooper and undecided voters.

An awkward moment occurred immediately after the town hall when Harris approached a woman from the audience who had asked a question during the event.

The cameras captured the odd encounter as CNN prepared to shift to commentary from Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, who both appeared disappointed with Harris’s performance that evening.

Bash opened her post-event discussion with Tapper, sharing insights from those who had attended.

Bash remarked: “Well, I’ll just relay what I’m hearing from the people I’ve been talking to, which is that if her goal was to close the deal, they aren’t certain she achieved that. And some have questioned if she’s held to a different standard. Maybe. But that’s likely the reality she’s operating within. People are starting to understand a bit more of who she is.”

She added, “But what will she actually do? When it comes to her legislative priorities, just name one — there wasn’t a single example. She answered some questions about her personality and her character, like her weaknesses or mistakes, but didn’t necessarily give concrete answers there.”
