Megyn Kelly Lashes Out At ‘Morning Joe’ Co-Hosts After Meeting With Trump

SiriusXM podcaster Megyn Kelly has sharply criticized MSNBC co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski following their recent meeting with President-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate, a gathering they reportedly initiated.

Kelly, a former Fox News host, accused the Morning Joe duo of blatant hypocrisy after years of vehemently condemning Trump and likening him to historical figures such as World War II-era leaders Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

“The absolutely ridiculous pair on the MSNBC morning show, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. How long have they been telling us that he’s an existential threat, that he’s a Hitler-esque figure, that he’s a fascist, that women will die if he gets elected?” Kelly said during a conversation with journalist Glenn Greenwald. “Well, they’ve done a 180. They’ve done a 180 as their ratings circle the bowl… This is so juicy.”

“I searched for a way to respond appropriately, and I called on my 10 years as a litigator, in addition to my now 20 as a journalist, and I think I found the perfect phrase: Go fck yourselves. Go fck yourselves, you dishonest jokes of faux journalists,” she remarked.

Kelly continued her sharp critique, saying, “What an absurd farce… Which one was insincere? He’s Hitler? Or now we’re going to speak truth to power and find a way of speaking to and working with Donald Trump? Which one was a lie?”

Greenwald echoed her sentiment, saying, “This is not hyperbole. I’ve given actual thought to this. I’ve done rankings. Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski are the most humiliating and pathetic people in all of corporate media, and I realized there’s a lot of serious contenders for that crown… Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski don’t believe in anything other than their own career in their own ratings.”

Kelly also referenced former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, saying, “I never thought I’d utter these words, but I agree with Keith Olbermann. Keith Olbermann’s reaction is my reaction.”

Revealing her personal stance on Scarborough, she added, “I’m going to tell you something. I was recently asked to be part of a debate, and I was considering doing this debate, and then they told me that Scarborough had been subbed in for the other person who I was going to be across from, and as soon as I heard his name, my answer was no. In no world would I ever appear with that cretin.”

“He is as low as you can go in our field, in our media field, and that’s saying something. He will do anything, say anything, to make himself feel important,” Kelly concluded.

The MSNBC hosts had addressed their meeting with Trump earlier during their Monday show.

“On Friday we were given the opportunity” to meet with Trump and raise concerns about some of his appointments, Brzezinski announced. “Joe and I went to Mar-a-Lago to meet personally with President-elect Trump. It was the first time we have seen him in seven years.”

Scarborough shared that the conversation touched on “a lot of issues including abortion, mass deportation, threats of political retribution against political opponents and media outlets.”

Brzezinski noted that despite their differences, the meeting resulted in an agreement “to restart communications.”

“Joe and I realize it’s time to do something different, and that starts with not only talking about Donald Trump but talking with him,” she added.

Meanwhile, Trump told Fox News that he is working to transform America into “the greatest and most powerful country in the world” and stressed the importance of “a free, fair and open media.”

He elaborated on the meeting, saying, “I received a call from Joe Scarborough requesting a meeting for him and Mika, and I agreed that it would be a good thing if such meeting took place. We met at Mar-a-Lago on Friday morning at 8:00.”

Trump described the discussion as “extremely cordial,” adding, “Many things were discussed, and I very much appreciated the fact that they wanted to have open communication. In many ways, it’s too bad that it wasn’t done long ago.”
