Melania Trump Has Made Her Decision – Sticks It To Jill Biden!
In what may be her final interview before she and President Joe Biden leave the White House on January 20, First Lady Jill Biden reflected on her experiences, her relationships, and her thoughts about her predecessor and successor, Melania Trump.
Speaking to The Washington Post in an interview conducted weeks earlier but published recently, Jill Biden shared that she had invited Melania Trump for tea, but the incoming first lady declined the offer.
“Joe and I respect our institutions, our traditions,” Jill said. “It’s very important to me that they continue.” Pausing briefly, she added with a resigned tone, “What would be the point of nastiness?”
Despite the declined invitation, Jill Biden left a note for Melania Trump and congratulated her during a conversation with President-elect Donald Trump at the opening of France’s Notre Dame Cathedral.
“I congratulated her and offered help,” Jill explained, recounting Trump’s response: “I had a good meeting with your husband in the Oval Office.” Jill humorously replied, “Yes, because you’re both talkers.”
The first lady also expressed her affection for former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, although she didn’t shy away from voicing her disappointment over Pelosi’s reported push for Joe Biden to step aside from a reelection bid.
“Let’s just say I was disappointed with how it unfolded,” Jill said, declining to elaborate further. When asked why, she added, “I don’t know. I learned a lot about human nature… I think that’s all I’m going to say.”
Later, she hinted at strained relationships in her inner circle. “We were friends for 50 years,” Jill said, referring to Pelosi. “It was disappointing.”
Her demeanor during President-elect Trump’s recent visit to the White House suggested a willingness to foster civility. Trump also spoke positively of Jill Biden after their meeting at the Notre Dame opening ceremony.
“She couldn’t have been nicer,” Trump told the New York Post. “It’s politics. You have to get used to it… We had a very nice conversation.”
Trump also discussed other significant interactions from his recent diplomatic engagements, including a trilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron.
“He wants to make peace,” Trump said of Zelensky. “That’s new… He thinks it’s time, and Putin should think it’s time because he’s lost — when you lose 700,000 people, it’s time.”
Trump revealed that his discussions with Zelensky included preliminary ideas for ending the ongoing war in Ukraine. “I’m formulating a concept of how to end that ridiculous war,” he said, emphasizing the need for peace as the conflict nears its third anniversary.
