Musk Mocks VP Harris with Embarrassing Video as Campaign Heats Up

Elon Musk, CEO of X platform and billionaire entrepreneur, didn't hold back in ridiculing Vice President Kamala Harris after President Joe Biden endorsed her, following his announcement to withdraw from the re-election race.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” Biden stated in a letter shared on social media and other platforms last week. “And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”

Shortly after, Biden endorsed Harris. “My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President,” he remarked. “And it’s been the best decision I’ve made."

“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” he added.

In response, Musk posted an old video clip of Harris chairing a meeting where she introduces herself: “Good afternoon. I want to welcome these leaders for coming in to have this very important discussion about some of the most pressing issues of our time. I am Kamala Harris. My pronouns are ‘she’ and ‘her.’ I am a woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit.”

Musk captioned the post with: “Imagine 4 years of this…”

The remarks were from a “roundtable with disability advocates,” based on a White House transcript, held on July 26, 2022.

Others also mocked Harris. At the time, GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado posted on X: “Kamala Harris just introduced herself with she/her pronouns at an official event. She then clarified that she was a ‘woman’ sitting at the table wearing a blue suit. This is what happens when your speechwriter quits and you hang around with Geriatric Joe too long.”

Musk has officially endorsed former President Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, a former CNN analyst suggested on Friday that Democrats would not have chosen Kamala Harris “in a vacuum” but felt compelled to due to her skin color, gender, and position as vice president.

Harris is running as the presumptive nominee with backing from party insiders despite lacking strong support from primary voters. Chris Cillizza mentioned on his YouTube channel that, given the circumstances and the limited time before the Democratic National Convention following President Joe Biden’s sudden withdrawal, Democrats might have picked a different nominee if not for Harris's identity.

“I think you need to win the Midwest and Pennsylvania to get elected president if you’re a Democrat. And I think Harris is, at best, an even money bet to win those states,” Cillizza said. “I think she probably has as much a chance as pre-debate Biden. So she can win, but it’s no lock … But the realities of the way the Democratic Party works, the vice president of the United States, who is a black woman, is not going to be the nominee.”

“In a situation like this, where the president says he’s not running again, the convention is in a month, and they have to pick really fast, she’s going to win,” he continued. “Even if it was an open convention, which it’s not really going to be … she would’ve won anyway. But is she the best candidate in a vacuum if the Democrats could pick anyone with no repercussions? No, she is not.”

Cillizza responded to a viewer’s question about whether a ticket with two Rust Belt governors would be better than having Harris as the vice president. He argued that Harris has “limited experience,” a “far-left voting record,” and “border crisis baggage.”

The former CNN analyst concurred with the viewer’s concerns and expressed his belief that Democrats would have nominated Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer or Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro over Harris under normal circumstances.
