Musk Warns Trump Loss Will Mean ‘Last Election’ For U.S.
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk recently stirred up debate on his X platform, issuing a warning that if former President Donald Trump loses to Vice President Kamala Harris, the future of elections in the U.S. could be at risk.
"Very few Americans realize that, if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election. Far from being a threat to democracy, he is the only way to save it!" Musk declared, responding to a user who pointed out the Biden-Harris administration's accelerated efforts to grant citizenship to migrants at an unprecedented rate.
Musk elaborated on the implications: "Let me explain: if even 1 in 20 illegals become citizens per year, which the Democrats are speeding up as fast as possible, we’re looking at 2 million new legal voters in 4 years. The voting margin in swing states is often less than 20,000 votes. If the ‘Democratic’ Party succeeds, there will be no more swing states!!"
He went further, stating, "Moreover, the Biden/Harris administration has been flying ‘asylum seekers,’ fast-tracked to citizenship, directly into swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Arizona. It’s a guaranteed way to win every election."
According to Musk, this would lead to a one-party system: "America then becomes a one-party state, and democracy is over. The only ‘elections’ left will be Democratic Party primaries. This happened years ago in California, after the 1986 amnesty. The only thing stopping California from falling completely into extreme socialism is that people can leave and stay in America. But when one party controls the entire country, there will be no escape. The whole country could end up like the nightmare that is downtown San Francisco."
Musk appeared to be referencing the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986, signed into law by Republican President Ronald Reagan. The legislation granted amnesty to undocumented immigrants who had arrived in the U.S. before January 1, 1984. It also made it illegal for businesses to knowingly hire undocumented workers and imposed penalties on those that did. Additionally, the law tasked the General Accounting Office (GAO) with investigating discrimination against authorized immigrant workers.
In the midst of these developments, CNN anchor Jake Tapper surprised viewers by criticizing Kamala Harris's campaign efforts, suggesting that she is not doing enough to counter Trump. Tapper argued that Trump currently holds an advantage.
"Are you surprised she’s not doing like five events a day?" Tapper asked Democratic strategist and CNN commentator Karen Finney during his show. "I mean, there’s only 26 days left. She should be barnstorming every battleground state, three or four events a day."
While Tapper expressed a desire for more interviews, he also emphasized the importance of local news appearances. "More local news, though," said Michael Dubke, former White House communications director under Trump.
Tapper continued to push back, saying, "But the local news interviews, town halls—it just doesn’t feel like October with the schedules I’m seeing for both of them. I kind of think [Trump] has the edge right now."
Finney disagreed with the notion that Trump has the edge, but Tapper pressed on, emphasizing the need for more visible activity from Harris's campaign. Finney responded by defending Harris's efforts, mentioning that her role as vice president has kept her occupied, especially with recent events like the Florida storm.
Finney concluded, "I think you're going to see that activity pick up in the coming weeks, as it should."
