Musk’s Super PAC Launches Massive Effort To Help Trump In Swing States
Tesla CEO and X leader Elon Musk has chosen to actively support the election of former President Donald Trump through various initiatives.
In a recent example of his involvement, Musk's Super-PAC is investing millions to gather voter data in key swing states, as reported by Mediaite.
“America PAC, which Musk co-founded, had maintained a relatively low profile until recent media reports highlighted the group's unique efforts and its notable backers. In a July interview with Jordan Peterson, Musk discussed the PAC, which has spent more than $20 million since June, according to FEC filings. Investors beyond Musk include Cameron Winklevoss and Tyler Winklevoss, Joe Lonsdale, and Doug Leone,” the report stated.
“One advertisement the PAC has been using to encourage voter registration is a video depicting the attempted assassination of Trump on July 13. The ad features someone sharing the video with a friend and urging them to register to vote. The recipient is then shown how to register, according to a breakdown from CNBC.
“The ad promotes the America PAC website, but registration results have varied depending on the state,” it said.
CNBC reported:
For users entering a ZIP code indicating they live in a battleground state, such as Pennsylvania or Georgia, the process is quite different.
Instead of being directed to their state’s voter registration page, they are led to a detailed personal information form, where they are prompted to enter their address, cellphone number, and age.
Even if they agree to submit all that information, the system does not redirect them to a voter registration page. Instead, it shows them a “thank you” page.
So, the individual seeking help with voter registration ultimately receives no assistance in registering but does provide valuable personal data to a political operation.
The website acknowledged this week that not all individuals who entered their information completed the forms.
“It came to our attention on August 2 that some individuals may have experienced difficulties completing the registration process on this website on August 1 and 2. If you had any trouble, please try to complete the registration process again or email info@theamericapac.org for assistance,” it stated.
Musk didn't hesitate to mock Vice President Kamala Harris after President Joe Biden endorsed her following his decision to end his re-election campaign.
“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President,” Biden wrote in a letter posted to social media last week. “And while it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to step down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
Shortly thereafter, he endorsed Harris. “My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President,” the president said. “And it’s been the best decision I’ve made.
“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this,” he added.
This prompted Musk to share an older video clip of Harris chairing a meeting where she introduces herself by saying: “Good afternoon. I want to welcome these leaders for coming in to have this very important discussion about some of the most pressing issues of our time. I am Kamala Harris. My pronouns are ‘she’ and ‘her.’ I am a woman sitting at the table wearing a blue suit.”
He commented on the post: “Imagine 4 years of this…”
