MUST WATCH: Biden Softball Interview Turns Into Total Disaster

President Joe Biden delivered some of his strongest criticism yet against his probable opponent in the upcoming November election, former President Donald Trump, during an interview with NBC News.

When Anchor David Muir inquired, “You did address Donald Trump and the guilty verdicts on 34 felony counts before the American people. You told Americans to respect the jury and the outcome of this case. You were at a campaign fundraiser and you told the room a convicted felon is now seeking the office of the presidency. You called it disturbing. What do you think the American people should make of this? How important do you think this conviction should be in this race for president?”

Biden replied: “That’s for the public to decide. But one thing for certain is, stop undermining the rule of law, stop undermining the institutions. That’s what this whole effort is. All the MAGA Republicans are coming out saying this was a fix. This was a jury that was — this was a judge that set up to get Trump. There’s no evidence of any of that. None. He’s trying to undermine it. Look, he got a fair trial. The jury spoke like they speak in all cases and it should be respected.”

Biden also reacted sharply to Trump’s characterization of him as “weak and pathetic.” “Is he describing himself?” Biden responded.

The president’s criticism of Trump, coupled with unfounded Democratic claims that Trump is a “threat to democracy,” comes at a cost: It appears no one, including Biden, is actively defending his record while in office, which has seen issues like inflation, soaring housing costs, high interest rates, and a resurgence in gas prices.

Additionally, Biden’s cognitive abilities are reportedly deteriorating, according to numerous sources who spoke with The Wall Street Journal in recent months.

The Journal interviewed various individuals — Republicans, Democrats, and White House insiders — for its report, finding many expressed serious concerns about Biden’s mental fitness for his role. These concerns reflect those of a significant number of voters as the election nears, after years of Biden exhibiting notable mental lapses, such as forgetting his own tenure timeline or claiming to have recently met with deceased individuals.

This report follows Special Counsel Robert Hur's decision not to bring criminal charges against Biden for mishandling classified material, due to doubts about Biden’s fitness to stand trial. Hur’s description has left Republicans questioning how Biden can be deemed unfit for trial but considered fit to seek reelection.

In response to the story, the administration claimed most allegations were false or attempted to recast Biden’s statements and actions positively, despite widespread skepticism. Other Democrats defended Biden by attributing his perceived decline to a “speech impediment” issue.

The WSJ report highlighted a meeting earlier this year about funding for Ukraine, where Biden reportedly “paused for extended periods and sometimes closed his eyes for so long that some in the room wondered whether he had tuned out.”

During the meeting, Biden spent considerable time trying to convince lawmakers of the funding's necessity, despite attendees already being persuaded. He spoke minimally, often deferring to his staff, and when he did speak, attendees struggled to hear him, according to the report.

“You couldn’t be there and not feel uncomfortable,” one attendee told the WSJ. “I’ll just say that.” Senator James E. Risch (R-ID) remarked that in private dealings with Biden, “What you see on TV is what you get.”

“These people who keep talking about what a dynamo he is behind closed doors—they need to get him out from behind closed doors because I didn’t see it,” he said.
